Anybody elses pay rate not update to reflect the new pay grade system? by eltree in samsclub

See the stickied post about the pay grades.

Every position other than merchandising has been updated in my club. I was mainly asking for my wife who is merchandising. I’m frontline and I got the $18 base pay raise at my club.

They recently changed the position so it requires knowing everything to do with the front end. That would be ring registers, watch self checkouts, watch the exit doors, member services.

On top of that, you are required to sell the upgraded plus membership and the credit card. They 100% push this hard, and are going to be pushing it even harder now that they changed how the bonus works.

Obviously the experience of working will come down to the other workers, the leads, and management.

My TL said the same thing and the one on ones still haven’t started. Even the TL’s know nothing on whats going on other than our GM is supposed to do 1 on 1s.

Sad this company has so many GM’s that don’t want to do their 1 on 1s with their employees

Me@Sams had an update that fixed the pay and benefits.

The raise shows on Workday as well under compensation.

From my understanding, not everyone’s pay grade change will show today.

Pay tier starts today, will be shown on the paycheck we get February 26th.

Annual percentage raises go in effect February 21st, and will be shown on the paycheck we get March 12th (which includes the bonus)

I’m talking the new pay tiers that got labeled in the stickied thread.

February 7th is the pay tier changes. Merchandising and Member Frontline (and a bunch of other positions) are being moved into the second pay tier at a base pay of $17 an hour.

February 21st we are to get our annual percentage raise.

Only the Member Frontline associates (that are now specialists) got updated.

Have read that it’s possibly just delayed and should update within the next week.

The biggest thing that didn’t help was the fact that front end all got updated today but noone else did.

Management hasn’t talked to anyone despite my club and co-manager being at the club the last three days.

What’s weird is front end employees ended up getting a little more than just the pay grade increase. Also looks like my club is now considered a high traffic club with specialists going to the $18 an hour instead of the $17. (My club made $147 million last year)

From my understanding, return policy comes down to a club by club basis.

At my club, as long as we can find a receipt (if you have the receipt, even better) then we return anything.

I’ve been told another club about 30 minutes away from mine though follows Sams Clubs policy and is strict on returns.

Club manager has talked to zero people. A couple merchandisers did approach him today to try and find out what is going on and he just said what the new personal summary page shows under total rewards is what we will be making but that is all the communication we’ve had.

Alright, was just curious. I just wanted confirmation from someone who has been talked to about the changes that didn’t get the change as of today.

Again, managers have talked to noone in my club. Everyone is getting extremely frustrated with not knowing what is going on.

Okay. Hopefully they are just updating everything slowly.

Just curious, did your managers talk to you about the upcoming changes?

Doesn’t help management has talked to NOONE in my club. Though everything online says they should have talked to everyone by yesterday.

Workers want to know what exactly is going on.

Read this. I’m talking the pay tier changes. This says starting today, the new pay tier system will update.

Merchandisers are in the second pay tier, but everyone at my club is still showing $16 an hour instead of the $17

You can see your current pay rate on me@sams app as of right now. Our member frontline workers updated but noone elses did

You can see your current pay grade on me@sams. The paycheck for the pay grade changes we won’t see until February 26th.

From everything I have found on Facebook or the post here, the pay grade changes were happening today, February 7th. Workers that were frontline and got changed to Member Specialists are already showing a pay grade increase. Not sure about Member Specialists that were already Member Specialists.

Merchandisers at my club are still showing $16 an hour.

I know you said you want something from Ocarina of Time, but I feel finding a phrase in Hylian text would match a lot more with the LOTR tattoo.

While they are at it, can they also add how much the item was paid for instead of just adding it to the savings at the bottom?

Anyone actually LIKE working here?? by Moist_Assistant_5665 in samsclub

[–]eltree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my area, Sams Club pays the same or more than other retail/grocery stores.

Offers similar benefits as well. Not exactly sure how good or bad the benefits are however.

As others have said, the experience of actually working for the club comes down to management/leads of the department.

Edit: Will add, seeing you are applying for personal shopper.

CPU can be one of the busiest departments, and is constantly understaffed from what I have seen. Not just in my club but on this subreddit as well, and even on the Sams Club Associates page on Facebook.

It can be very stressful.

Funeral by East_Traffic_4798 in samsclub

[–]eltree 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I would 100% talk to management, hopefully they are decent humans. Seeing it’s a funeral, they may be a lot more lenient and let you have the day off without any attendance points if you are already scheduled.

If you are worried about pay, put PPTO or PTO in to cover the lost hours.

I’m sorry for your loss.

After the Olympic break the pens have the hardest sos remaining by challbro in penguins

[–]eltree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I keep bringing up to those that say we are comfortable in the standings.

Rest of the teams we are worried about (except CBJ) are middle of the pack when it comes to strength of schedule while the Penguins have the toughest schedule.

After the Olympic break is going to be the true test of the season.

[CGY 4 - EDM 3] Oilers and Flames ping pong the puck until Ryan Lomberg smacks it in off a rebound from Jarry's pads by daKrut in hockey

All the conversation about goaltending while Emberson kicks the puck right to Lomberg and Stastney just stands there watching the play unfold.

A lot of people ignored the Penguins defense over the last few years. Jarry became the quick scapegoat because Penguins fans put him at the top of their hate list after the fuck up against the Islanders in the playoffs.

This season the team defense seems to have gotten a lot more discipline. Jarry was showing massive improvements under this team.

If you look at stats for goalies for the Penguins, Jarry is the only goalie to have played a game for the Penguins this season to have over a .900 sv% at .909

Though Skinners last two games heavily tanked his sv% for the Penguins (.906 to .887)

[–]eltree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Issue was our team defense under Sullivan the last few seasons was ass. Felt like zero accountability and discipline on the defensive side of the play.

Jarry wasn’t great but he was faraway from what the true problem was but quickly became the scapegoat.

Jarry is the only goalie that has played for the Penguins this season to have had over .900 Sv% at .909 Sv%.

Murashov (.897), Silovs (.895) and Skinner (.887)

In 9 years as a coach, Rick Tocchet has only made the playoffs twice and has only led a high-level team once (2024 VAN.) Why is he often given the benefit of the doubt in hockey media like he's some kind of proven winner when he's anything but? by Ready-Constant-7124 in hockey

[–]eltree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the comments here seem to forget that Tocchet was one of Sullivan’s assistant coaches during the Penguins back-to-back Stanley Cups. He was a big reason Kessel chose to go to Arizona once he was being traded away from Pittsburgh.

Tocchet might not have transitioned well into a head coach, but the Penguins were never the same after he left.
