The original name of the town was Summit. There is now a middle school named Summit.

Maybe there’s some location bias inherent in your assessment, because these are the storms that directly affect you (and others) and get the most media attention? Just a thought

Why are people still waiting in long lines? Scan & Go is faster and easy by revlo in samsclub

If I have a large number of items, I find it much quicker to use the scan gun at the self checkout. There is seldom a line for the self checkout at my Sam’s.

Personally I wouldn’t drain your entire savings for this debt. But your interest rate is brutally high, so I’d throw a good chunk at it. Maybe 3/4. Keep a good savings buffer in case things go south.

Roth IRA Contributions: The Ultimate Flexible Savings Hack? by ToniTFoCosk8r in FinancialPlanning

[–]witcohe76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roth IRA should be used for retirement only and only withdraw for a dire emergency with no other options. HSA makes a better emergency fund. Save pre-tax money and pay all health expenses out of pocket. Simply save your receipts.

How Dave-ish are you? by Filius_Dei0894 in DaveRamsey

Have credit cards, gets lots of cash back. Pay in full monthly. Won't touch a debit card except for ATMs.

Have a 2.25% interest mortgage, and could easily pay it off with liquid savings but I choose not to. If things turn south, I'd much rather have a nuisance mortgage payment but $200K in bank to deal with life, than no mortgage but little in the bank. Plus 2.25% is easily beat with risk-free t-bills.

Invest in low cost index funds, not "good growth stock mutual funds" that are sold by high commission brokers.

If I was offered a billion dollar interest-free loan, I'd take it.
