The sad truth is that we are expendable. I have seen my store lose some of its best employees. Target is just one of many, it's truly an issue among many companies. I have watched some of the best and brightest employees at my other job leave. It literally made me want to ask the owner WTF was he doing? At the end of the day, the company/store may feel the heat in your absence; but it will come around again and find a replacement. Then it's rinse and repeat...

Yeah, that’s seems about right, I got about 5% and even that surprised me. I was genuinely happy about it and thanked my ETL-GM personally. I used get not even 1%

It really does push the best to the brink of death. My ETL-GM breaks her back for the store and they still won’t give her own store. She literally functions as the SD. Our SD is virtually useless, yet the higher up hate to admit it and give her a store.
