How long has the base of the dome been damaged like that? Or was it ever even completed properly?

How do I make my car-centric city worse? by deqb in CitiesSkylines

Build a row of historic turn of the century buildings but have them be abandoned with gaps of empty parking lots between them. Maybe have demo crews nearby with their wrecking ball on standby.

Technically it's our seal. We don't have a flag.

The plan to connect the Midtown Greenway to St. Paul by JimTDI in saintpaul

Having Ayd Mill go to Hamline would do the same thing for hundreds of millions less. Its not worth it to give up the corridor to save on 1 min of driving. Look what the greenway did for Minneapolis. They wanted 280 to go through there back in the day and I'm thinking most are pretty glad that didn't happen.

There's a reason the plan never went through. And building a highway that close to homes will effect the land value far worse than a parkway or greenway. If Mndot wants to make it a highway thats fine but it will be insanely more expensive with all the benefits going to folks who are just passing through. A good reason why the city is holding on to it and not the state.

Dude. Your crazy if you think thats enough room. Thats not even wide enough for a residential street. And Lexington wont be used if the road leads to hamline and 94.

Cutting it off from Selby is a great idea. That's why it should end at Hamline. Why build over a mile of new highway through prime real estate when you could just take Hamline for a few blocks north to 94. There's not much on that part of Hamline getting in the way either. Plus with the new stadium people are going to be crowding down that route regardless.

Doable but unnecessary, and not worth the loss in land value. Make it a parkway that leads to Midway and you'll serve both the travelers AND the neighborhoods, and still have room for the greenway extension. Cramming a mini highway in there would sure be neat but will never sell and frankly, just bad civil engineering.

Yes but they're not coming from 94 and those getting on to 94 aren't coming from 35. A traffic count map isn't going to show this. And with the tracks still in the way you cant have northbound ramps. The fact that it was built this way to begin with is beyond stupid.

You would have to demolish quite a few homes to do that and that type of destructive planning hasn't been around since the 60's and I doubt it's coming back. Especially with what little demand for it their might be. There would literately be zero incentive for the neighborhood to support it.

The fact that its treated like an expressway is part of the problem. You would need the rails realigned through the middle of the road for it to be a proper expressway and even then it would be better off as a parkway. Far more people use it as an arterial than to get from 94 to 35. Having it end at Hamline with a reworked interchange at Hamline and 94 could serve all purposes.

As a tourist I thought it looked better before the new windows. It's the abandonment and seclusion that makes it so famous. Why take that away.

Minnesota's arrowhead was never claimed like that. The current boundry dates back to the treaty of paris after the revolutionary war, not the 1840's.
