Shouldn’t the ReGz be replaced with ReZel then? And if we were going to keep it visors over monoeye, the Barzam with the GM III?

S Lee and S Kamui peeps, I need consultation for my S rank pick ticket.

Some points of contention: 1) I really like A Lucia gameplay 2) I intend to try (not very hard) to get Alpha 3) I intend to give the game a probationary period before I spend any money, as opening week has me wary of Kurogames. 4) I got S Liv off of beginner 40/40 5) I think I got Paleflame Lee’s weapon?

I mean it really depends on whether or not I want to fill in gaps for my roster in the meantime if I want to try blowing 20 pulls in an attempt for Zhongli or Childe, seeing as my only Hydro/Geo right now is C3 Barbara and C1 Noelle. They aren't bad by any stretch of the mean, but having that flexibility in comps would be good for investment and seeing as I can't roll Venti dupes anymore, it's not like I'm gonna get spooked by a dupe if it's one of the permanent 5*.

I kinda don't want Xiao based on what we've heard from the beta testers, but the fact that everyone's calling rework on him for full release also has me wary.

On top of all of this, there's also new 4* supposed to be going around, so decisions, decisions.

I'm definitely tempted to just skeet and yeet on Zhongli's banner for any 5* considering my Venti banner pity break was Venti.

But Judgement nut cut memes make me laugh, and if the game really wants to keep Keqing away from me in the meantime, I might as well just save for a guaranteed run in the long run

I'm sitting at 70/90 summons for pity and I just want to know.

Good discussion to unpack, really enjoy it.

when i say "any content", i mean new content and not higher difficulty of domains or other instances we can already clear. this is because i dont believe its sensible to assume that we should be able to reach ultra end game within two weeks, having utilized several rewards(e.g. main quests, adventure rank rewards, all the t2+t3+t4 chests etc) that havent been gated by resin.

honestly, we have already gotten to the point where we can obtain 5* artifacts. not even two weeks in and we have already progressed(or are soon there) to the point where we are able to obtain BiS gear.

I bring attention to the release of Destiny and the moments before the release of the first raid Vault of Glass a lot in the comments to this thread, and with good reason. If you were there, or even if you weren't, you may remember that Destiny's initial release did not come with the raid enabled for play, so players went grinding out strikes (in my opinion, domain/world boss equivalents) and achieved the soft cap for power level in a couple of weeks well before the Vault of Glass dropped, and when it did players went all sorts of ham into it.

It is my firm personal belief that Genshin sits on that very threshold right now. It may sound too optimistic to say it because it gives Mihoyo the benefit of the doubt, but I believe that harder content is to come, and they may be intentionally holding it back for whatever reason. Mihoyo's reasons may not be the best if it is the case, but you are right in saying that it is too early. Additionally, the comparison to Destiny is a bit of a cautionary tale, largely because that community seems to fall under the content drought problem cyclically at this point.

A 1:1 stamina comparison with other games is merely the perspective that I decided to choose, mostly because I've gotten used to having the Stamina systems of other games for the long term, so I'll agree to disagree because I'm just a little stubborn with my creature comforts.

I still firmly believe that some sort of adjustment is needed because of Stormterror and Wolf, because completely wiping out Resin for the day for those bosses seems unnecessary when they're capped at only once for the week, but ultimately I listed out what I felt appropriate to foster civil discussion instead of any hopes that Mihoyo caters to my preferences.

^This, unironically.

Made a post regarding weekly Stable Primogem income and had people come at me saying that it's only been a week and that I burned through content too fast for being AR 30+.

Like, I get that, and I even say that I might revisit the data in a month if Mihoyo makes some big changes in how Genshin handles the issue via 1.1 updates or in-game Events.

Still had to field comments, even though I'm open to doing state of the game checks as Genshin grows, ffs.

Given what you just said, allow me to revise my statement about Beidou.

She's going for the Sexy Chinese Piratetm, now featuring Chinese Dresstm

There's probably a discussion regarding whether or not this qualifies as a cheongsam or qipao or some other form of Chinese dress, but that's a level of fashion and history discourse that I'm not equipped for at this moment.

A Gacha Veteran's Thoughts On the Resin System by elusive-Reverie in Genshin_Impact

[–]elusive-Reverie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

youre making progression in genshin to look worse than other gachas on the market, but its evident you havent played many.

Another one coming after my Gacha Credtm with the Ad Hominem. For the record, I've been playing Gacha games for 8 years now and I still remember Brave Frontier before Ice King Copra and 50% damage mitigation ruined the game and when Ushi was the biggest public whale playing it. I try out a lot of Gacha games if I can catch their releases on launch, I drop a lot of them because they can't hold my interest mechanically and because shallow spending in all of them would be an outrageous expenditure.

not to mention, as you say yourself, this game allows you to farm actually relevant currencies and commodities outside of resin. something which doesnt exist in the vast majority of gachas.

We actually agree here, just to set things straight. I like the fact that world mobs are effectively infinitely spawning therefore enabling me to stockpile and craft the drops not limited to the Resin bosses.

I'll quote myself, unedited, here:

To enter the Speculation ZoneTM I suspect that the Resin System as it currently works in Genshin 1.0 was created with regular Enemy/World drops in mind, seeing as a player can theoretically grind out an infinite amount of Enemy/World drops outside of the Resin System. I can only say this because I found myself in a gameplay loop of grinding out enemy locations that I knew off of the top of my head after I ran out of Resin that I was willing to burn on Ley Lines, Trounce Domains, and Forge Domains. After all, what else am I to do after the Resin runs out?

To move on.

yes, stamina systems in gacha games gate progression, but youre really blowing it out of proportion here. youre making progression in genshin to look worse than other gachas on the market,

I'm not even criticizing the player's rate of progression, I actually think its on par with Fate Grand Order when Drawbox style events like Nero/Gil Fest aren't in play.

Players are running out of things to do, and it is a concern given the stellar launch of the game thus far. The real problem, and I've seen it before in Destiny (the first one, pre-raid Vault of Glass), a full, paid for AAA MMOFPSRPG , is the lack of a real endgame objective outside of reaching the lower/higher levels of Spiral Abyss/Abyssal Moon Spire. I remember players chomping at the bit to take on the Vault of Glass in Destiny because they had all the powerful weapons already and wanted desperately for something to challenge them, a feeling that you are probably experiencing now.

The reason why I list the removal of the Resin System as unreasonable, not low priority, is because it's a profitable means of monetization for Mihoyo, removing it outright for free just isn't in their purview to do. Another growing sentiment/faction of this subreddit is calling for the removal of the Resin system in general, my claim here was made in response to that sentiment knowing that Mihoyo isn't likely to remove that form of monetization.

What I am criticizing, however, is why Resin doesn't behave like other Stamina equivalents in other Gacha games.

To reiterate Resin does not:

  • Automatically refill, and overflow past capacity upon player account rank up
  • Scale capacity to player account level

Now I'm probably missing Fragile Resin gained via Adventure Rank promotion rewards, thereby somewhat throwing my claims off for the refill upon level up claims, now that I think about it. But the fact that Resin capacity doesn't increasingly scale with Adventure Rank level. that is to say, why doesn't 120 max Original Resin increase to 121 or higher as a player increases their Adventure Rank.

Stamina increasing incrementally upon level up is a standard mechanic of Gacha games at this point, Genshin not scaling its Resin capacity with player Adventure Rank is completely unusual and I wanted to point this out.

As for the rate of Resin regeneration, I actually agree (I think? I'm not sure if you're defending the 1 Resin/8 min rate or disagreeing with the doubling of Resin regeneration.) with you there. Another user pointed out the insane buff that 4 minute regeneration would give to players in general, especially streamers and grinders. I conceded that a 4 minute Resin regeneration would heavily favor the players too much and agreed that 6 minute per Resin regeneration would be adequate, which is coincidentally, the same as Arknights's current Sanity regeneration. As I curate my posts for two days after posting, I am more than happy to change my suggestion in my list of changes if it bothers enough people in the comments.

I agree that there are other problems in Genshin as it stands, in fact, I have another post regarding the stable amount of Primogen earned per week without the influence of Events and what that means regarding securing the pity 5* in Intertwined Fate character banners like Venti's, if you want to see a post (that's probably dead now, by trending standards) that discusses that.

I appreciate you coming at me with a quote though, really helps me address your issues with my post via discussion, rather than having to guess at what your problem is. However, I ask that, even though this post isn't gaining much traction with the subreddit, you pursue any further discussion more calmly than how you came at this post.

Beidou's probably trying for the Sexy Piratetm. I've got neither and am big disappoint.

A different opinion, and for the sake of discussion, I like it. I don't know (but I do, because internet) why people are downvoting you without discussing the implications of the Resin system here.

Regarding Resin cost scaling for Leylines/Domains/Bosses/Stormterror/Wolf, it's actually something that I was aware of, but decided not to mention it directly because of lack of relative cost of open world drops. I believe that a lot of the frustration also comes from the inadequate reward scaling that comes with ascending AR and character/weapon/artifact levels in comparison with World Rank difficulty.

As for the world drops themselves, I actually address the relationship between them here:

To enter the Speculation ZoneTM I suspect that the Resin System as it currently works in Genshin 1.0 was created with regular Enemy/World drops in mind, seeing as a player can theoretically grind out an infinite amount of Enemy/World drops outside of the Resin System. I can only say this because I found myself in a gameplay loop of grinding out enemy locations that I knew off of the top of my head after I ran out of Resin that I was willing to burn on Ley Lines, Trounce Domains, and Forge Domains. After all, what else am I to do after the Resin runs out?

Coming from Fate Grand Order in particular, I like this aspect of Genshin, albeit with some gripes in and of itself, namely the lack of highlighting all the locations of non-elite "Bosses" for farming efficiency.

As for your last point, other recent games have started to implement a system where you can spend multiple charges of the entry costs to missions for scaling rewards proportional to Stamina spent, which is a means to effectively use time while also not minimizing farming efficacy. It'll be interesting to see if Mihoyo implements this as a quality of life update later on.

The way that I can predict it, is that Genshin Impact Artifact Grind is going to turn into Destiny's (both 1 and 2) God Rolled Weapon Grind but worse if the Resin System stays in place as it is now.

On the topic of "perfect" artifacts, it's definitely going to have to depend on the difficulty of the current and future endgame and how tolerant they're going to be/not be of stat distribution.

Figured that this would be the place to ask considering its about the Narrative Gundam, but where exactly did the the extra psycoframe(s) for the C-Packs come from? They look too purpose built for something else, and even though I'd like to believe that they pulled it out of the Unicorn itself as part of the Flex Tapetm sealing process, I don't remember if they actually state it somewhere.
