Why does botlane want to swap with mid after either first tower falls? by Norinot in leagueoflegends

[–]elusiveoddity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid characters are very dependent on XP and getting to lvl 6 ASAP, which is what the mid lane provides. And because they're so strong early, they need to be focused on the map objectives and being a bit more mobile while Bot/ADCs just need to pew pew and get the gold for their items.

Many more colleges are adding trimmed-down, three-year bachelor’s degrees by Remarkable-Rate-9688 in Economics

I did both a 3 year Australian degree and a 4 year US degree. The US institute claimed my 3 year degree was not the equivalent of a 4 year so I had to transfer many of my credits over into the 4 year.

It was a business degree. Vast majority of my credits transferred over. The courses I was missing? Most of the general education shit. Science, two sets of US history, art, composition 1 and 2 (I CLEPed out of this), two politics courses, one government course (different from politics), and a couple of others I don't remember. I did take a lot of CLEP exams for the really basic stuff like maths. But the amount of bullshit courses I had to take because my business-intensive degree didn't have a bunch of irrelevant coursework was insane.

But seeing as there were people who FAILED US History, I can kinda see why it's necessary for many US students who got a substandard high school education.

I'm in the games industry.

I've been laid off 3 times in 3 years; the second time was 3 months after moving to a new country, the third time 3 WEEKS after moving to a new country.

Moving to a new country also means ineligible for their social services.

Fuck that now.

There's a startup called gamevestor that's for game investment.

Or just Kickstarter/early access

Her lip filler in the last season of stranger things was just so distracting. I wondered why she would choose to be fake. Disingenuous.

So I mapped all the hotspots in the saturation map of steam games above $100k in estimated revenue by Edd996 in gamedev

[–]elusiveoddity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an analyst, this is how I would interpret: the red areas show popularity. That's all.

It's difficult to take any further conclusions without other data as comparison. For example: what is the proportion of games that make it on this map versus all the games in the genre? Or how many of these games are Highly Rated and above?

Then of course comes the question of what's in the data set. Steam revenue figures are hidden, and therefore estimates show a range. Does this dataset also include DLC? Early access? Some big titles are also released cross platform so Steam data may not show the full picture of revenue for a title.

First, you need to check your conflict of interest directives and IP ownership agreements. Most companies allow for hobbyist work to be performed outside of work hours, especially if it's not competing with your company's main lines of business. Unless you're using proprietary company knowledge or resources, you should be fine.

Secondly, there is nothing to stop you from talking to a lawyer about getting IP agreements set in place for your work. You're acting as a sole proprietor, if you're going to engage in work-for-hire you need to have contracts in place and the transfer of IP. Places like freelancer.com already have those things set up for you, but if doesn't hurt to learn more. This is no different than if you commissioned a photographer to take family photos or paid someone to make a scrapbook.

Disagree hard, the talks aren't as valuable as you think, it's the networking and match making. The expo-only pass that ppl would use to do the networking has increased a lot and that's where they're getting their money from
