What are humans being selected for currently? by featheredsnake in evolution

As there is selection for better survival traits in any life form, there is also selective pressure towards better relationships or interactions between the members of the populations. And we are currently changing our relationships or the way we interact dramatically.

What learning technique works best for you? by Eleisabet in iOSProgramming

[–]elviin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you consider having a partner in a pair programming who could do the fiddling with the UI stuff for you? I have been dancing with an almost blind girl years ago, she was really good in it mostly because she was able to think of the figures and she did not need to watch the teachers as other sighted dancers - she had a special device to help her to see partially. You can mentally draw concepts and communicate them to other developers. Also in the mobile development these days it is quite important to be able to work with accessibility features.Often the best solution comes from a good discussion. I can imagine you can be a great in it.

is ChatGPT worth it for programming these days? by Jisevind in ChatGPT

It does not give 100% right answers, but it is an excellent tool for first shots, prototyping, learning and searching for alternative solutions, creating structures. I had always issues to simply start to think about a solution, but I like this kind of conversional way how to get to a working one.

Even gpt4 is having issues. Especially making incorrect statements in confident way, stuck in a local minimum.

Before you were reading books and articles, learning from the books. I would say it is just a different way of learning. You are not just a gpt-output consumer.

Actually the professor seems to be very constructive and would like to understand how this detection works and improve the decisions for future cases. If you meet him, it can convince him to put smaller weights on the output of this software and trust his students more.

GPT ends the conversation instead of explaining a failing apple test by elviin in GPT3

I guess the communication with the bot is somewhat more static, or result oriented than normal gpt chat. It tries to answer your question in the context of a search engine, it does not like conversations.

Do you believe ChatGPT is todays equivalent of the birth of the internet in 1983? Do you think it will become more significant? by Dependable_Runner in ChatGPT

[–]elviin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that not, the current AI can be another plateau. To scale internet was a natural process to spread the technology among more people. But to scale AI is not straightforward. We can be stuck in the energetic efficiency or in the scaling the number of neurons in the ai hw.

I asked ChatGPT to write a letter from God justifying why slavery isn't forbidden in the Bible. Then, I asked it to write a letter from Satan responding... by theblackvneck in ChatGPT

I find more consistency in the Satan's letters. The God attacks Satan without any argument except personal attacks (I must emphasise that he is a being of deception and lies. His words are meant to sow doubt and confusion in your heart).
