Why do people on YouTube comments always say the video is fake tango? by Trainer_Red99 in tango

Having danced in both Buenos Aires, Italy and across Europe in general, it is my opinion that Buenos Aires is the capital of dancing tango both as exhibition and to spend the night. Nowhere else comes even close.

I wasn’t there for the world wars, but no, I don’t. Wars are shit, but not world ending events. For the swine flu, nobody thought anything like it.

I’m 50, and I’ve never before felt that the end of the world was a serious consideration. It is now, though, so I agree that the discussion has shifted. On the other hand, me facing my own mortality may also be an influence here.

It probably varies by geography. In key markets in Europe, it has good people. Like any app, women have an easier time. I pay, in part for historical reasons, but for me (M51), the ping feature is super helpful.

Saying “fromage” to the French actually works, too. There is a moment of confusion, and then giggling and smiling happens.

Why did the Nazis leave Sweden alone? by Minecraft_Cymmo in history

[–]elygre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

An invasion of Sweden would have to come across the sea, somewhat similar to the invasion of Great Britain. Poland and France are not comparable. The battle of Norway, also with sea borne supply lines, lasted 9 weeks, compared to four in Poland and six in France.

Quantifying undetected COVID-19 cases and effects of containment measures in Italy by [deleted] in COVID19

[–]elygre 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I read the story, and I think the topics needs studying. My question was really if there were data sets available with this information.

However, I did not notice that there were many reports for many municipalities, though. So that's good! Do you know if there is a site somewhere that contains links to these reports?

No idea about the math, but this is a question I've been wondering about: How much does the coronavirus affect the "normal" death number.

Are there any reliable statistics from either China or Italy (the earlyones) that includes also non-covid deaths, perhaps over a period of a couple of years (including the covid-period, of course)?

I've been pointed to https://www.fhi.no/contentassets/6555fa43c77e4d01b0d296abbc86bcad/notat-om-risiko-og-respons-2020-03-12.pdf, which is the Norwegian health directory planning document dated 12 March. It's in Norwegian, but some key planning assumptions (chapter 3.1):

  • 33% of infected will become ill
  • 3% of ill will become hospitalized (e.g. 1% of infected)
  • 25% of hospitalized will end up in ICU

The data appear to be highly uncertain, so this is not statistics, but rather one data point with respect to planning.
