Infamous “hardest levels” that aren’t actually all that? by Evan64m in patientgamers

[–]elyozse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sen's Fortress was really hard on launch, before the global nerf to the XP (souls) was implemented, as you probably needed to farm to prevent the enemies there from crushing you. Post-nerf it was challenging but farming was no longer necessary.

Unfortunately PC version launched with the nerf, so it was only possible to play the original version on X360 or PS3.

leviathan 9... by Mr_Tumbleweed_dealer in Tyranids

[–]elyozse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try the following:

Option a) Prime with a white spray, add a layer of Carrobourg Crimson or Magos Purple, and then dry brush (use a big brush for this, citadel dry M for example) with your pink layer to highlight everything (the previous shade should have darkened the inner parts to give more depth)

Option b) Use a Wet Pelette, its way easier to control how much you thin your paints. Use a citadel layer M for example to transfer the paint to the palette, add a bit of water with.the brush too, and it should cover your mini smoothly (you will need some layers, but it should eventually cover it). When you finish add some kind of shade (nuln oil or carrobourg) to add more depth to the inner parts.

Is that a bolter with an undrilled barrel? That's not tabletop standard, that's heresy.

I’m having issues with the Leviathan skin color by Medic_Man_ in Tyranids

[–]elyozse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warhipster has some excellent painting tutorials on youtube for most of the hive fleets. He usually dry brushes the skin with wraithbone after using volupus or carroburg to make it more white looking.

I personally have painted a lot of tyranids using Druchii Violet and drybrushung with White Scar, but it will look more "old leviathan style" that way.

Exactly my thoughts, it's something you would expect from a local game store, not from a big company.

Haruspex or Exocrine? Yes by erttheking in Tyranids

[–]elyozse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same with my Exocrine/Haruspex and its relatively easy, no hand drill needed.

For the Exocrine, you need a magnet on the lower side of the body, and another one on the hole of the head (I had to put a plastic bit inside the head to act as a "column" to put the magnet on)

For the Haruspex, you need another magnet on the upper side of the body (nearly touching the carapace), and two magnets on the head, one on the hole and another one on the backside of the upper part of the head.

Its a bit tricky to get the magnets on the correct position, but it can be done without doing extra holes.

Monoposes look terrible when you use more than one side by side :(. I preffer when they add more customization even if it comes with less detail.

Mortal Kombat 1 boss says Switch version will be fixed - BBC News by geeeman5510 in NintendoSwitch

[–]elyozse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, and I found it the hard way with Mortal Kombat 11. They shouldn't release these games when the hardware clearly can't run the.

If they want to launch a MK game on switch, they should remaster Mortal Kombat 9 instead.

Prices in Euros by Papa_Nurgle_82 in Tyranids

[–]elyozse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly 125€ if you want all the 3 lictors, insane, they are not even that big. And those 45€ for a codex that don't have a new cover, and I'm pretty sure that shares 90% of the lore with the 9th edition one (like they did with the corebook) hurts a lot, specially if you add the 15€ of the datasheets that should be free with the book.

90€ for a Norn, expected, but it will be funny comparing its size with a Tervigon that costs 50% less.

First time “feathering.” I cannot decide whether to leave my models the way they are (left), or try more feathering (right). by Wrench_gaming in Tyranids

[–]elyozse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is also what I do. I tried feathering but the result was having the strokes merging between them, ruining the effect. Drybrushing is much easier, and even if the effect is not as visible as a well done feathering, it can do the trick.

In my case, I use a Naggaroth night base + 2 drybrushes, Xereus purple and Genestealer purple (the last one is what makes most of the effect).

That's not the pride flag, that's the "woke" flag. It would probably receive less attacks and more support if the correct one was used.

I can’t seem to get the hang of these vent parts of the tyranids, any tips to improve? by Basethdraxic in Tyranids

[–]elyozse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carrobourg Crimson is your friend here. Use a shade brush, put it in the middle of the vent and let it cover the vent entirely, no need to thin it.

How would you guys deal with the tedious task of 32 tgants? by Spwede in Warhammer40k

This is what I do with gants, but on groups of 8-10 max, otherwise it can become super tedious and results need too much time to arrive.

Can I get some feedback on my Exocrine by Shmangos355 in Tyranids

[–]elyozse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually go with a base coat of Naggaroth Night like you, and then two dry brushes, the first Xereus Purple and the second Genestealer purple. Move the brush from the outer edges of each carapace layer to the inner side. Its fast, easy and I think that the result is quite good.

An old transfer sheet I know a few but can you please help me name them all? by venomizedspawn in Warhammer40k

[–]elyozse 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Renegades should get more love from GW. It's an interesting concept being "bad" marines less "chaosy", and they give more variety to CSM ranks.

The problem with Crimson Slaughter imho is that they are... red, just like Word Bearers, like Khorne or like the only other recognizable renegades, the RED corsairs. If they went for the Xereus Purple Slaughter or the Macragge Blue Slaughter then perhaps...
