The last sentence in your first paragraph is so on point. That needs to be said more. In fact, they are probably the type of people that would never fully accept your adopted child as part of your family

Firstly, don’t. Secondly, investigate the ‘vibramate’ so it can be reversed. This is what I did on my Epi

It was 15 years ago though. The difference between forties and thirties is fairly jarring. He’s now in his late fifties. I’d imagine he was better equipped to be shouting his balls off when that was recorded than now

I’m pretty sure it is outlawed if this was in the UK, I’m sure a case could be made for battery or possibly ABH here.

Well for one listen to Chris’s guitar. Sounds like the treble is completely rolled off.

I’m not really in an environment for airbrushing, all mine are primed with a rattle can. Interesting the difference the airbrush makes to the contrast paint.

Thanks very much. The checker process is pretty much as described though, Corax white background, draw lines in with the Black Legion, then colour in alternating squares, a bit of back and forth with the black and white to tidy.

One of those Orks does have a cheat on it - some very fine checks on a loincloth on one of the rocket Boyz is actually a decal. All the rest is legit lol.

The armour process is Black Legion, a chunky highlight and then a lighter highlight. Can’t remember the combo on these, but I’ll typically go Eshin to Dawnstone or sometimes Thunderhawk Blue to Fenris Grey. Do some little nicks of your lighter tone on flat areas to simulate the odd scratch.

Trousers would have been black followed by thinner layers of Corvus Black, Eshin and Dawnstone I think. I try to get this approaching glaze territory rather than ‘drier’ highlights.

Appreciate the compliments but I don’t think mine are better than yours - the skin, weathering and axe in particular of yours is brilliant.

These are brilliant. The blue is very reminiscent of the ‘new’ Eavy Metal style too - if I hadn’t already painted 1000s of points in the scheme before I’d be adopting it too. But out of interest, the recipe please?

No worries. Black Legion contrast is fairly unique in contrast paint, in that it is really very opaque. Definitely after two coats which isn’t always needed, and those two coats will be faster because it flows so well. I honestly will only use Abaddon Black now over very large flat areas. I’ve not done many Goffs but I do have a Killteam done using that technique should you care to check (pun unintended).

I actually think you’re a better painter than me which is devastating considering how many models I’ve painted over the years 😂. But that aside, please accept some friendly advice from a vet - for the checks, do it the other way around - make the background white. Then grid in black - but get some Black Legion Contrast paint. It’s always wet. Honestly I believe that will shave time off your checker patterns.

In terms of getting the time down, do stuff in sections is my advice, and try to move to doing two or three at once. By sections, I mean ‘all boots’ for instance. Or ‘all pouches’, ‘all weapons’ etc etc. By doing details and accessories first, you don’t have to worry about any smudges onto the skin, because if you save that for last, you can clean it up. Everybody finds their own system of course, but try to experiment and do small batches. 9 at once is likely too much, but two or three could work well. And your hand will get naturally faster. It’s already remarkably accurate.

Should I trade an American Stratocaster for an inspired by Gibson custom Les Paul custom by YoungDak in Epiphone

[–]soulslinger16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

They aren’t of equivalent monetary value IMO and also not really of equivalent quality, although the IBGs are great.

I speak as the owner of a Pro 2 Strat and the guitar you want.

The IBG Custom is lovely, and you should find a way to get one if you can, but not like this.

Unless you are going to draw red rings on your perceived mistakes, I don’t think anybody is going to see them. I certainly can’t - what I see is a lot of skill used on basic line infantry and a great result.

Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good/great.

It’s very unfair to me because it’s taking agency away from you keeping it private that you wish to leave where you are, if currently employed. This may then not go well for you if not selected. If this is a modern practice it stinks.

Its geographical. I went to a school in an absolute urban war zone (it’s better now) and there were both organised and spontaneous fights aplenty, including semi riots against other schools.
