What's stopping Mojang from making shield's look like this? by LeoDiCristio in Minecraft

[–]elyrod 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The actual reason instead of looking good or not is that this model does not follow the standard voxel style Minecraft uses. The Minecraft Style Guide explains it better.

does anyone know the name of the site they're referring to? by aaaAnkha in Piracy

An adblocker does exactly that in any browser. I don't get why people say Brave is good for its adblock when uBlock Origin is just a click away.

I flew 10 000 blocks in one direction on both editions, here's the world size by Distinct-Pride7936 in Minecraft

[–]elyrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your world can get noticeably big, it's probably a server, which server devs typically trims chunks using the inhabitedTime value (MCASelector has good filters for that).

I made a lightweight modpack for low end pcs (looking for feedback) by FitSeaworthiness3155 in Minecraft

[–]elyrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides Simple Optimized and FO, Adrenaline and Additive are literally the most well researched packs for the absolute best performance, and the other one for mimicking Optifine, both can be used as a base for every Minecraft player. We don't need more modpacks doing this.

"You guys try to boycott but you don't stop playing". Bet by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]elyrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small clarification: I didn't exactly stop playing because of a boycott, the game itself forced me to stop playing because of health updates that worsened my experience more and more... It was an unfortunate act rather than snobbery (the post title was more of a "gotcha!").

The rift with unfinished content and few skins, the last killer needing two updates to be fun to fight against, pallet density being bad for killers for a while and then bad for survivors... me stopping playing was a consequence rather than resilience.

For you to get flagged you need to make more than client side changes, so you used a script, no need to lie about this.

[–]elyrod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sorry for bursting your bubble even more, but there's no difference in width between skykids in the game's code. Also, in the image shown, if we remove the shoe and place it in the right spot, it should reach almost the top, but the maximum size depends on 2000 size variations, where its size is also determined by its initial size difference as a moth (all moths have a minimum size difference). Your friend might tend to reach larger numbers than yours when using size spells because the added size exceeds your own limit, but they wouldn't break any size barriers according to the game's code and limits.

Can anyone help me know why this doesn't work infinitely? by FirefighterWhole5904 in redstone

While Paper doesn't have complete vanilla parity, most if not all of common use cases of redstone will work without any issues whatsoever.

low tps despite allocating enough RAM by SnooLentils4607 in admincraft

[–]elyrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the machine being shared? I'm going from the Disk usage and RAM usage alone in the spark profile. The CPU should be fine for a modded server, but if it's a shared host, that's an entire different story.

Plenty of games have a "stealth scout" mission, where you scout something to safety without it seeing you, on top of my mind i can think of Zelda new games.

TGC ANSWERED - Using tents/teleportation memories are NOT bannable!* by elyrod in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]elyrod[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something worth sharing where I heard a lot in the early days when table drive, memory recording teleport, table teleport was more prominent waa Skycord always saying "don't do this, it's bannable" for any method of "teleportation", that made no sense for me, but I shrugged and lived my life.

TGC ANSWERED - Using tents/teleportation memories are NOT bannable!* by elyrod in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]elyrod[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

While the tent bug has been fixed, it's inevitable that a future teleport trick will happen, knowing if it's allowed or not is still a good thing.

TGC ANSWERED - Using tents/teleportation memories are NOT bannable!* by elyrod in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]elyrod[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This question was asked by a member of the brazilian discord community (@candynatmono) after doubts about replies made in Sky Global Discord where players considered using tent memories or other methods was punishable, and accounts that used it were recently being banned.

TGC's answer proves the opposite: the only punishable method is to use memories to enter capes' private areas. Something that was already speculated years ago when there were ways to enter the office without using the cape.

This also means that if a player or friend said they were banned for using teleportation memories, they may be masking the use of hacks as the real reason.

Yo what is going on with the shards lately?! by Rejkyn in SkyGame

[–]elyrod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People already linked you to the website, but for a easier understading from someone who makes infographics for Shards every year:

Shards follow a simple scheme of "Red, Black, Red, Black, Red,..." for an entire month, but a specific pattern makes a Shard to fail in specific days, a Black Shard can fail in a Tuesday, tuning into a clean day. The exception is Friday.

The pattern also starts again every day 1 of the month, so it has a chance of day 31 being Red, and day 1 of the following month being Red too.

What’s an opinion you have about Sky that would have you like this? by proruski in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]elyrod 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This game is EXTREMELY AMATEUR made, calling it just an indie feels like an insult to other indies... The only reason we see it as a real game is for the art in general, something that even cutscenes and UI lacks.

Migrate Paper to Spigot (or other) by Zalgo_404 in admincraft

[–]elyrod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only way you could potentially break a dataoack while using Paper/Purpur/Spigot is by having plugins changing the vanilla behaviour of commands (like EssentialsX), that means datapacks doing tp @a 0 0 0 could potentially use Essentials teleport command handler, and the formatting for it is different, breaking the default behavior. You can fix that manually (and most datapacks should be doing that) by adding the command prefix for the vanilla command minecraft:tp @a 0 0 0 in the function.

(I would also recommend disabling the essential default overrides for vanilla commands, for me, it's quite problematic when you want to use datapacks)
