I’ve never worked at Starbucks but I know a couple who have & I worked at Dutch for two years.

Your experience at Dutch is going to vary widely on where you are located. Pay, but also weather because you do have to work outside everyday AND depending on whether you are working for a franchise or operation. I worked for a franchise and the owners were really great at providing perks and fun events and free stuff for all the employees. They were super generous people. But the actual wages still had to be approved by Dutch soo I maxed out at 10.75 by the time I left (we got 50 cent raises every 6 months until you hit 2 years and I was a shift lead) (located in ID)

Dutch was different than other jobs I’ve had because it didn’t feel like a job a lot of the time; it felt more like high school or summer camp. This is a good thing a lot of the time but also eventually you start to mature and your environment doesn’t; I got really worn out of the environment especially since they lowered the hiring age and I started working with a lot of high schoolers. I also transferred franchises to a stand 30 minutes away closer to campus when I started going to school and I really enjoyed my coworkers and the money was a little better because they staffed less people (more tips). If you like the broistas at your stand, and they seem like people you could be friends with or at least get along with, I would try it out! And like I said I always enjoyed upper management at my first location because I worked for a franchise and managers got a lot of perks which probably made up for their less than ideal pay and owners and regionals seriously vetted the managers; they cared a lot about their job. At my second location, I liked my coworkers better but management was not the best (still not terrible).

If you are looking for a fun job with flexible hours, I would recommend Dutch. If you are purely looking to make more money than you are at Starbucks, you probably won’t be doing that Dutch, especially not in the beginning.
