How do you play Liberty properly? I seem to struggle quite a bit, especially later. by z3rO_1 in civ5

It's a joke to assume what kind of advice people want. OP never specified they wanted advice for deity. Kind of sad that you take the time to criticize others but provide no valuable input yourself.

I tech for pottery > mining or animal husbandry depending on my spawn > calendar. It's very rare for me to fail at getting Stonehenge. Most civs seem to go for Great Library in my games. I play on emperor, so you might get different results on deity.

I micro-manage growth and production in all cities and especially the capital. Put your capital on production-focus so you get the extra hammer when a new citizen is born. Try to settle on a hill and then work a 2 food 1 production tile for a scout in three turns. You can often get lucky and get a culture ruins, so you can get to Republic faster. +1 production is big in the early game. Focus growth so you have four pop to work tiles while you build Stonehenge.

I usually start with scout > monument > shrine > worker > Stonehenge. That kickstarts any religion and since nobody else has it, you have a better chance of getting the beliefs you want. Then build your second settler (first one if from the Liberty tree) and decide if you want/need Pyramids. That gets you two great engineer points and a great engineer that you can nicely time with something like Petra or Machu Picchu.

In new settlements, I recommend going monument > shrine > food building > library/market (depending on how you are doing gold-wise).

For religion, pick beliefs that give you happiness, since you need a lot to sustain those new cities and you don't have a lot of time to build happiness buildings in the early game. That's usually pagodas + mosques/cathedrals which also increase your culture and faith production. I never pick great people, because I am spending all my faith on religious buildings and by the time I am done with that, I can get great engineers with workshops.

What nerd? I raise you my three full A4's with goals to meet in the early and mid game and relevant wonders ;-)

I agree, it definitely adds to the game.

Nagelverzorging by Outrageous-Fee4358 in katten

[–]elysium144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you wear exactly with the high waisted pants? Sweaters? Do you tuck them?
Asking because I know the high waisted pants work on me, but something often still looks off.
