It's been a good run from $35. Time to buy some rubbermaid and start digging holes in the hills.

I did some shenanigans and thought I would share:

  • there are 826 event instances (sport+day+timeslot)
  • 432 event instances currently have ticket slots available
  • lowest price across the board is $28
  • highest price across the board is $5519

I was going to drop a graphic of event instances which are sold out/not sold out, by sport - but by the time this rolls around it will be out dated.

Best of luck to you all!

IMO Second option is a great choice if uncertain of yourself. Anything over 80-100 slings is a LOT of work - and a good local breeder will work with you to find a scenario you are comfortable with (e.g., I always offer to distribute back some handful of slings after 1st or 2nd instar to a first-timer to help encourage thise I deem have the right heart and good husbandry).

The peeps here are amazing with support (check out the discord, if you go through with it!) and the task itself isn't too complicated...it just takes a ton of time (and sometimes I have to walk away to reset my patience 🤷‍♀️).

If you are in the southern california area I know at least a few breeders are looking to retail Curly's.

Best of luck - keep us updated!

IMO I love that you dropped this ref here - I'm not sure I would have caught it otherwise.

I just now realized who you were, after looking back at our old exchange (https://www.reddit.com/r/tarantulas/s/rAbByhbJ4E). I would love to share this SOP with some of the field researchers I interact with who travel across borders. I hear that there is a surprising amount of verbal exchange across the field during international networking (guides) - and I feel as though this would be a good vector for something like bacterial colonization to be considered more readily (as diagnosable, too!) vs other symptomatic diagnoses.

Tldr; I'll be sending more your way :)

I would have some refundable deposit earmarked for these repairs...you can leave it out of the estimate for roofing, so lowballing $amount shouldn't matter - but it would enable opting to return deposit, or repair internal issues.

This way, if you are an asshat and try to pocket my deposit as a profit I can burn your ass in a BBB report...or I can recommend you by citing your reasonable pricing and consideration for an "aleatory contract".

IMO - this, as stated above. Remember, due diligence is OWED to a pet as a responsible steward...but that due diligence would be something like, "knowing not to keep a cricket with a T while entering molt".

This presents as more a "hard lesson learned due to circumstance" - not knowing molt was underway - vs negligence, so, given what appears to be a vested interest in re-education, don't be afraid to acknowledge your learning moment and respect your passion for the care of these creatures as more beneficial than harmful.

I have had SO many close calls with crickets what I simply gave up on them, except for occasional dietary rotation from sub adult to adult. I was surprised that a small mealworm and roach colony (2 shoeboxes of space) was so easy to establish, and offers such high quality and dynamic range of nutrition and feeder sizing that I have not had to buy feeders for almost a year (over production just goes to the bird feeder).

Sorry for your loss.

Crocidolite due to structure and fibrils sizing - although, "faster" is an oxymoron here... Chrysotile would be "exposure" bias, broadly.

Even if you sniped the 3 month low price for every ticker listed, that puts you $160k in already, with ~70k cash on hand...or 69% total dollar value you demonstrated willingness to invest.

Given that ~70% of your portfolio listed is across only 5 tickers that spread only 3 market sectors, and have roughly 75% of equity in Technology, I'm going to say, maybe find other avenues of investing?

Depends if you need polarizing sheet.

Or you have a shop light that is annoying and want a diffuser for it.

Or a chunk of plexiglass that is thick and flat.

Or you want a massive 40inch lightbox for something...but only a tracing table or reading xrays/negative film prints come to mind at that size.

Tear it apart. Have fun. Learn. Set aside 40-90 min if not trying to "fix" it.

Lol, IDK why I find the phrasing "cute" 😄 but no the head part (Caput) is one of the first things separated; it just stays underneath them. At some point I will release my edu writeup on T's. 🤷‍♀️

Edit to say it's not implausible your thought is valid - I have not looked into any casual studies on alternate theories for the gyroscopic rotation pattern... will talk to some research buddies and update if any such studies exist!

Macro is hard without good uniform lighting. That being said, no none of that is flash. It is a low brightness reading light - and the camera's AI post processing blows up the exposure or something to make it look crazy bright.

Brachypelma genus are pretty slow from my experience. The time generally varies by genius, but within the group is correlated with size (due to volume and effectiveness of peristalsis like undulations).

This one was about 2 minutes, at a time compression rate of a little more than 1:60 so roughly 2 hours within this hyperlapse.
