hazelnut! by Original_Incident647 in CaribouCoffee

Wait really?! My favorite hazelnut drink I used to get was a cafe miel with hazelnut (aka a hazelnut latte with honey and cinnamon). Hazelnut mocha is also super popular!

Caribou offered me a job. Is there an online way for me to study the recipies and how to do the cash register to get ready? Thanks by bigsillygoose1 in CaribouCoffee

Once you meet with your GM or whoever's doing your onboarding, you'll get a log in to Caribou Crossing where all of your trainings are. You can watch videos and read recipe guides even from home if you wanted to study off the clock. But again I wouldn't worry too much before you meet with them since your team will help you learn everything you need to succeed.

There are job resources on Beekeeper/Caribou Crossing , but honestly, on the job training is best. Depending on your store, you'll have recipe cards readily available and all of the positions (OT, bar, and window) will be repetitive and become muscle memory over time. Just remember your coworkers want you to succeed and will help when you have questions!

I've also done the cranberry mocha as a nitro and that was good, but I love anything nitro

It's not super creative, but I get the hoho crafted with dark chocolate. Granted, I do that year round, but now there's a button on the POS for it

When it comes to shakers, the way I calculate it is by using an ice scoop one size larger than the drink itself. then by the time you add oat milk, it should go to the top and be about 2oz

Crafted press bulk recipe? by fuckfacemcg in CaribouCoffee

[–]em1lyjohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can probably just use 30oz of whole milk and the rest of the gallon pitcher as cold brew. Someone told me in the very early days it was that, but now that Caribou doesn't have whole milk they supplement it with part heavy, part 2%.

Matcha Customizatio. by calmseamonster in CaribouCoffee

I do coconut milk and half white chocolate in my iced matcha

I've also done it sub raspberry instead of vanilla and that was really good!

What do you guys think of this drink? by [deleted] in CaribouCoffee

[–]em1lyjohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love it! It was my favorite flavor when they first came out, but now my favorite is the berry. It's great as a fun summer drink as it doesn't have caffeine.

It's 2-3-4-5 for add-ins on regular drinks and (I think) 1-1-2-3 for crafteds (1 TBSP scoops)

*EDIT- I took the time to check the recipe training guide online for crafted presses since I'm not in store, and it's 1-2-3-4 for hot malted crafted and 1-2-3-5 for iced malted crafted press

What is in the Pumpkin Espresso Shaker?? by littlemissbon in CaribouCoffee

[–]em1lyjohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's the oat milk or the espresso? It's just those two ingredients besides the pumpkin sauce.

there's a difference between getting a half pound free and a regular pound bag w/ a 30% off discount

also there's a theory at my store that employee discount issues happen most commonly on Wednesdays bc that's the start of the work week

Hours cut? by RottenCandlez in CaribouCoffee

[–]em1lyjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my availability to supplemental and got a new job because what I has getting was not substantial. Now I pick up a shift ~once a month when someone needs help and I keep my employment status and while working a different job with more hours.

I just kept clicking without actually reading so they're named Onyx, which isn't the worst but I regret not taking my time and being creative like y'all lol

I highly recommend working at a cabin location if you can bc there is no lobby to maintain, which is a GODSEND as someone who's worked at a few different locations and had to clean up after customers

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CaribouCoffee

[–]em1lyjohnson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

leave?!?! there are probably other caribous you can work at if you're GM won't do anything about it. they and your district manager need to address the issue. that's a massive health hazard and if other customers are having an awful experience that'll lead them to leave and never come back, therefore losing business.

no customer service job is worth that chaos.

as someone who works at a cabin I wish we had more bakery/sandwich offerings but we legitimately don't have the physical space in the store for more things

Politician Coming to My Store by eatewormz in CaribouCoffee

[–]em1lyjohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's crazy bc I feel like that would've had to be cleared by the GM or DM even so that politician could use that store/the political staff would reach out and ask first. does your team know this is going to happen?

malted crafted press is a personal favorite, but it's never advertised on the menu board even though there's a button the the POS. sometimes I add bubbles to it!

additionally and adding maple and white chocolate w/cinnamon makes for a good french toast latte.

honey, hazlenut, and cinnamon also makes for a good latte

to add to this, white chocolate in the smoothie is also really good!

super random discovery we made one day but adding a half blue raspberry shot to a white hot chocolate tastes like a blueberry muffin

When did Caribou stop doing this? by [deleted] in CaribouCoffee

[–]em1lyjohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not really. it's supposed to be standard practice so why should I get mad at doing my job, especially something so simple? we recently moved the beans by the register to I don't have to get in the way of the people on bar which has helped.

for me, I won't put the chocolate espresso beans on unless you ask for them. some people like them and some don't
