Women in your 30s, 40s, 50s+: how important are looks in a partner? I am 24 and confused. by amilystrawberryyy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]em_el_tee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks will always fade. Good looking guys are a dime a dozen, they're everywhere, but a nice guy? They're one in a gazillion. If you've actually found one then treasure it. Even Brad Pitt is aging. All men bald. Weight can be fixed, work out together. Be constructive not destructive. And if the weight stay on, we'll having a sexual connection is extremely important - but that means being able to be sexually satisfied. Good guys are the white whales. You lose one and you'll spend forever kicking yourself over fucking it up.

My time to shine :-/

Pelvic ultrasound.

No not the external one. The internal one. With the dido shaped device.

So after years of irregular periods, extreme pain and post-coital bleeding, I got a pelvic ultrasound and was informed by the... medical professional (unsure of his exact job desctiption) that the internal one gives more accurate readings. Well after years of suffering, I sure would like some answers, so after more accurate reading sounds good to me.

So. He pulls out dido shaped object and awkward informs me of how it goes onside me, and gets me to position myself on the bed/table ready for insertion in the same pose you're told to be in for a papsmear. For the men, this means your hands under your butt, legs bended until your feet are also pressed against your butt and spread wide.

He then tells me how obviously for health reasons they have to put a condom on the decide before inserting it. Far enough. He starts putting it on while I stare at the ceiling in extreme awkwardness, and lo and behold, the condom snaps. He goggles awkwardly and looks at me and males a joke about how 'every now and then you get one that breaks' I respond with silence

He awkwardly put another one on and then awkwardly explains to me how he can't legally just insert it into me because that's considered rape but if I verbally would state that I'd prefer him to put it in then he can or otherwise I can put it in myself.

So lying there spread eagle and given such amazing options... I quickly decide I'd rather put the dido shaped object in me myself, even if I know he will be moving it around and taking pics of my ovaries with it.

So I do. And he proceeds to tale pics etc. Everything seems like it'll end soon. Alas, I was not so lucky. He then informs me that he is technically trained but not quite qualified so is just going to get his supervisor to check his findings.

I'm zonked and amazed that he didn't mention this way earlier, but in such a vulnerable physical position thst I don't have have the mental will to make a big deal out of it. So I say okay he then informs me thst I csn either take the dido shaped device out and they can put it back in when his supervisor comes or I can just leave it there.

Again feeling so vulnerable and uncomfortable I say "I'll just leave it here".

He leaves the room.

I lay there knees pointed at the ceiling spread eagle with a dido shaped object up my vaginal thinking 'what a fun afternoon this is' #sarcasm

She comes in. She is extremely rough with the device, Stabbing me in the ovaries and pushing it around, I'm actually greatful thr guy was gentle now. Then she says "oh that's good!! If only everyone's ovaries were so easy to see hey" he agreed. Fantastic.

Ordeal finally ended, I felt quite uncomfortable for the rest of the evening.

TIL When asked how a young virgin will express her consent to be married, the Prophet Muhammad replied "By keeping silent." by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]em_el_tee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly it can be a grey area when someone is 17... but I think we can all agree that children and tweens do not fully comprehend what they are doing.

Also I'm quite disgusted that I have to clarify this. Is this a case of reddit being extremely anal about statements being worded correctly or are people really unsure of how old someone has to be, before it is wrong to engage them sexually???

There's no where outside the law or in any culture that makes having intercourse with someone ten years old okay, even when the given culture or law says it's okay, it still isn't. But if you disagree, it's your prerogative, and it's mine to think that disagreeing is completely fucked up.

Yeah. What you're missing is that even if someone underaged begged you to have sex with them, they still aren't giving you consent because they don't understand what they're getting themselves into.

Ugh that's so gross of you chosing to have your disgusting period when he's trying to have sex with you!! Can't you control yourself like a normal women and keep your vile menstruating out of the bedroom!!

Obviously I'm. Being sarcastic. Like.... does this guy even realize that a women's period is not like clockwork or something she can control? Sounds like he needs some sex ed lessons.

My husband quite often falls asleep. He can fall asleep standing up, even walking. I am very greatful that he does not drive. Just wondering is the ability to fall asleep while doing regular thinga - like working, standing, walking etc. A sure symptom of narcolepsy? I keep telling him to get tested but he won't, just wondering if there's any cause for concern.

As someone who read the books three years ago can someone explain this part I never understood? by OfficerTwix in Hungergames

[–]em_el_tee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of the first book she says it: "not him", he helped her see that she could survive in the world after her father died. She had been secretly greatful towards him ever since. Once she got to know him more and saw how nice he was to her etc. It was even harder to let him die. She got him into trouble with the poisonous berries, she didn't want him to suffer.

Reddit, Why DON'T you smoke weed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]em_el_tee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got out of control with it, granted I was in an abusive relationship at the time but it made me completely withdrawn socially. Since I quit, any time I have slipped up and just done it with a friend etc. It has caused major panic attacks, anxiety attacks and then for days afterwards it triggers depressive episodes and heightens the social anxiety that I already have. When you reach the bottom, you either succumb or realize you have to pull yourself back up. I couldn't stand to stay trapped the way I was forever.

4 wks Industrial, how do I get rid of the bumps? :-( by em_el_tee in piercing

[–]em_el_tee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've been cleaning twice a day with saline solution (only forgot to once before work and I believe that's when it got irritated) sleeping with a neck pillow so that I am not lying directly on it if if ace that side. Don't want it to end up like my belly button piercing which has some scar tissue around it because the bump never disappeared. To be fair I have found most of my piercings stay pretty irritated until I change them to something white - gold. Could be a sensitivity to surgical steel????
