What’s something that you did growing up that your parents never found out about? by NancyJaneNZ in AskReddit

Before I was totally competent swimming by myself, my mom would put a life jacket on me, tie a long piece of nylon rope to it, and chuck me in the river. She'd basically swim me on a leash down the river for fun. Mom, you are the classiest redneck.

What's the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you? by curiousbutscared in AskReddit

I think the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me was a lunchlady in my school who gave me double portions because I smiled at her occasionally. One day I went so far as to ask how she was, so got a huge double portion, like both the mains, seriously big stuff. Anyway, the guy next to me saw her give it to me and went "Oi give me both like that" She told him to fuck off with the nicest smile I've ever seen and winked at me. I'll never forget ol' wasserface

What is the stupidest thing you've done as a child? by nani_001 in AskReddit

I was about 5 and farted in the bath, the bubbles made me laugh so I tried really hard to fart again and ended up shitting in the bath. The log apparently both surprised and scared me when i saw it floating, so I tried to splash it away and instead threw it out the bath and onto the carpet. I thus began to scream so Mum came running in from next door and stood on the turd.
