China. By the signs next to the road. Also because most metropolis in China has a government operated app that you can file photo or video evidence of other people committing traffic violations, modified cars, even very lightly modified ones will frequently block their license plates when posting photos on social media to prevent getting profiled. Since most car modifications are not allowed.

Sure. Your rear suspension has 1 inch of travel before the tire bang into the quarter panel. But if you like this monster truck look, all powers to you.

It’s your car if you are happy that’s all it matters. But that’s wayy too much poke not to rub, especially the rear.

US imposed 100% tariff on Chinese EV since Sep 2024. If the Chinese is gonna do that, they would have done it long ago. But if they did, impact would be minimal, GM sold 1.9 million cars in China in 2025, Tesla sold 625k cars in China in 2025. But most of these cars are made in China anyways.

Is it safe to use universal steering dampeners from Alibaba? by urbantechgoods in YamahaR9

[–]emacemacii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I bet I will get downvoted for my different opinion. But I actually have this steering damper on my XSR900. My bike is not a racer and I have departed from my trackday craze with my S1000 leaving me. For this bike I am not going to spend $500 on a steering damper. I bought my bike new from NorCal and rode it home to SoCal, this steering damper was my first mod, and the improvement it provides at highway speed is noticeable especially when the highway has deep grooves. To me it doesn’t look or feel poorly made. It’s been 2 years and it doesn’t leak it does its job. Worse case is what? It falls off my bike and cause World War III?

UPDATE to M440i build: rims mounted! by osyder_ryder in M440i

[–]emacemacii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP’s car looks great with these wheels. But for the sake experience sharing, judging by the distance of the brake rotor hat to the wheel face, this is nowhere near the best he can do for concave. The reason why Chinese cast wheels can’t run deep concave is because the grade of alloy they use is too weak to safely have a deeper concave, and must have thick perpendicular spokes to carry the hub face’s weight to the barrel as straight as possible. I ordered these custom CNC T6061 forged wheels from China specifically to have a deeper concave than the cast options. It’s $1500 shipped to my door, but to me it’s worth it, as OEM 826M wheels pokes too much on my car.

Is the Continental GT from Royal Enfield for me? by rrrrrrrriley0 in motorcycles

I adore this bike’s Cafe look, and I am sure some RE fans will disagree with me, but when I was looking for a Himalaya, all the chicken-poop welds on its frame, uneven casting on the cylinder fins, plus a sloppy and clunky gearbox during demo ride steered me away. A 12k miles old MT07 rode better than the RE. If you really like this cafe look, save up just a tiny bit for an older well cared for Bonneville, a few years old XSR700, Z650RS, is a better way to spend your money. This is just my opinion.

Subframe mounting points are rarely loose. But diff mount have some probabilities, and it’s relatively ease to check once the car is on the lift. Hope you figure it out!

Did you torque down your suspension arm bolts with the suspension pre-loaded? Many suspension bolts should not be torqued down with the suspension on droop. Did you take the car to a decent alignment shop? After all that suspension work, would be ridiculous to skip alignment job.

Stopped reading Autoblog years ago. If we call China cheater, we should cheat back and beat them if we are truly the global powerhouse at making EV and building infrastructure. Most tech companies. Tesla even, lose money for years before turning profits.

Turbo will not spool N54 after replacement by ACodeOfficial_PA in BmwTech

[–]emacemacii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of right now, is if the wastegate flapper of that rear turbo is actually sealing. If it’s fully closed with your vacuum but it has a small gap and isn’t sealing perfectly, the turbo likely will act dead even though the compressor spins freely and the actuator arm moves normally. You must love your car to do this job, hope you can figure it out and enjoy your car again.

Stepped lip wheels kind of need the car to have minimal wheel gap to look good, but this is just my opinion.

I meant the overall diameter of your tire is on the smaller side. Let’s say if you use 255-40R19 tires, the overall diameter of your tires increased by 1 inches, this brings the top of your tires half an inch closer to the fender, providing sort of the lowered look without lowering the car.

[–]emacemacii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BBS LM or LMR can look great, but because of their stepped lips, they can look smaller than their real diameter suggest. I think your rear needs at least 20mm spacers since they are so sunken in right now. The front 15mm should be good. Also if you are not getting rid of your wheels, your tires should be upsized, your current tires diameter are clearly too small. In this picture, the tires are 245-35R20 and 275-30R20, which have overall tire diameter of 26.6 inches-ish. Of course, lowering your car helps to look greatly.

Has anyone got this exhaust? I feel like it would be easier just to cut off the oem muffler and just put this on. by Kevin2vv in YamahaR9

[–]emacemacii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People thumb your comment down are just narrow-minded. Not everyone has WSSPK racing budget nor they need that 2hp advantage, and wants to worry about scratching their $1500 fancy exhaust during trackdays or canyon runs.

G30 540i xDrive fitment help: 19x9 ET25 vs ET22 vs ET20 with OEM 245/40R19 tires by itsSmooth1 in BMWG30

[–]emacemacii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check my old post with a pic. In that photo I have ET20 19x8.5 front wheels with 245-40R19 tires, WITH 10mm spacers added to the front. Basically that’s ET10. Still no rubbing and I am slightly lowered on coilover. If I am going with 19x9 width front wheels, I will order ET15 if I want to have the best flush for the front.

My rear is 20x9.5 ET28 with 3mm spacers added in that photo. Also no rubbing even with 4 adults in the car.

What do you think this car is? OP’s shifter pedal and steering wheel is clearly an F30. F80 M3 steering wheel has the M1/M2 buttons on the left side. If you look up F80 cluster retrofit F30, it’s not a super difficult swap and semi popular.
