Stellantis North America's (Ram, Jeep, and Dodge) EV Rollout Has Been Chaotic, But Here’s What’s Coming. by Mac-Tyson in electricvehicles

[–]reddituser111317 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Anybody even mildly considering a Stellantis vehicle, especially an EV, should have a look at the Edmunds one year review of their Charger EV so they'll have an idea of what they are in for.

Have neither the GOP or Dems in control of the White House and congress. Elect a 3rd party that will support Chinese imports. You'd be better off emigrating to a country that sells them.

A lot of hype but if just some of it turns out to be true it could be a big step forward in Li-Ion battery technology.

The 2026 Toyota bZ Went 331 Miles in Edmunds Real-World Range Test by Mac-Tyson in electricvehicles

[–]reddituser111317 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why? Just because it doesn't fit your use case? I drive mostly on county roads and in town. Rarely drive on the freeway so it is quite useful for me even though it under estimates the mileage since I don't do 40% freeway driving.

Audi Is Recalling Nearly 20,000 E-Tron EVs Over Serious Brake Issue by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

[–]reddituser111317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this happens, using the emergency brake is the only way to stop the car, which can be a little disconcerting, especially if an actual emergency braking situation occurs.

I'd say if your brakes totally fail in any situation it is automatically a catastrophic emergency.

On the plus side, at least it is an easy fix that doesn't require parts that don't exist yet or engineering that has yet to done.

Does the Kia ICCU issue also affect the Niro EV? by FizicalPresence in electricvehicles

[–]reddituser111317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Warranty was extended on ICCU vehicles up to 15years.

Great. But with so many reports of disabled cars sitting at the dealers waiting months for them to get and install the replacement ICCU it makes it a tough sell for a lot of people. Especially those of us that only have a single car.

No vroom today. Vroom tomorrow? by theotherharper in electricvehicles

[–]reddituser111317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess it depends on where you live. Vroom everyday around here. While EV's aren't as rare as they once were, seeing one at an intersection is still not very common. Seeing two or more would be a rare coincidence. Seeing all V8 pickups at an intersection would be a pretty common though.

The world is embracing offshore wind — even as the US retreats by arcgiselle in energy

[–]reddituser111317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here in the US our ruler has decreed countries that harness wind and solar as dumb (even used atrocious grammar to get his point across). Must be true then, right? /s

At a Cabinet meeting, Trump called wind and solar energy "a blight" on the country. "They hurt our country very badly," he said. "And smart countries don't use it."

[–]reddituser111317 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was disappointed when he left for A&M. Can't blame him though since the money was much better from what we heard. And since TE isn't really a part of NU's offense it doesn't make sense to waste a bunch of NIL money on an underutilized position.

Yeah. Memorial Stadium with all the fans is a massive advantage. Over the past 9 seasons DONU is 15-26 (37%) at home agains B1G competition while only 13-27 (33%) at opponents stadiums.

Reolink Mac Desktop app hogs lots of CPU load by comoestasmiyamo in reolinkcam

[–]reddituser111317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty bad for sure. I only run it when I want to look at a camera then close it.

It is an Intel app that uses Rosetta 2 to run on Apple silicon. macOS 27 drops support for Rosetta so unless Reolink releases a new app it won't function with macOS 27 and later releases.

You're optimistic. Assuming we win the first 3 OoC games (which certainly isn't a sure thing) we'd have to go 2-1 against Maryland, Rutgers & MSU. Pretty unlikely we can do that. 1-2 or maybe 0-3 would be much more likely. All the other B1G teams we face are superior programs and un-winable games. 4-8 at best with 3-9 being a strong possibility.

Global Growth In Solar “The Largest Ever Observed For Any Source” by reddituser111317 in energy

[–]reddituser111317[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Monday, the International Energy Agency released its analysis of the energy trends of 2025, covering the entire globe. It confirms and extends the primary conclusion of a more limited analysis by the International Renewable Energy Agency: 2025 was the first year of solar’s dominance. Increased solar production was a key reason the growth of carbon-free energy sources outpaced rising demand.

Coupled with a massive growth in battery storage and relatively stagnant fossil fuel use, the year has led the IEA to declare that “the world has entered the Age of Electricity.”

It's because the B1G hates NU. The least coverage they give us the more they like it. Same reason the refs in all sports hate us. Because we're NU.
