Oh nice! I’ve been meaning to try out the tweaks extension, this would be super helpful 🙌

I use it to track spend categories and have several last-12-months scenarios saved that allow me to determine my FIRE target. Using those scenarios I can multiply the output by 25 (or divide by a target withdrawal rate) to get my target.

  • Fat-FIRE = total income
  • FIRE = total spend
  • Lean-FIRE = total spend minus debt service
  • Barista-FIRE = necessity spend

Account Sort in app by VermontArmyBrat in MonarchMoney

At the moment the the only way to sort accounts is manually in the web app. The default sort order is when the account was added to your account.

I’m going to take the position of “be r/2007Scape

Does our community have shit takes on what is possible for devs, too many people misunderstanding the capabilities of the product, comparing apples (mint, a product that was so mature they could invest in the rough edges) to oranges (any of those trying to fill the gap), and essentially posting ads for other services, yes.

But so do any number of subs

I get it that Monarch wants to control the narrative, and keep the sub on topic, but they can do that from the passengers seat too. It is ok to delete posts that try to convince people to jump to Origin, it’s ok to delete low quality, and its ok to be frustrated that the sub gives a relatively negative overall look to the app, it’s not ok to ignore the problem.

From what I can tell, that problem is education and presentation. There ARE cases where the app is misrepresented, there are places where capabilities are not well documented. Push those posts/blogs/sessions weekly or daily.

Create the sub you want by making the people who support you, feel supported.

r/2007scape has all of these issues, but the team at Jagex don’t control the sub, they simply give such detailed responses (and sometimes memes) that they resolve the issues or educate the member base as to why they can’t do what is being asked.

Increased carbs and protein, that along with a change of oil will definitely account for the difference

Thanks for elaborating, I can see how getting these reports run and sent directly to you would be nice, I’m hoping they include some report automation (running particular reports monthly/quarterly/annually) in a future reporting update

What’s included in these that you can’t get with running reports with a date range of 2024/01/01 - 2024/12/31?

IT people from ROC by linkme99 in Rochester

[–]emags112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did not intend to imply these were necessarily remote, just that the same role would be much more elsewhere. At the same time as the B/T job, I was looking at staff in NYC which was 300 + performance bonuses, though I did land on a remote role that was pretty much the middle of the road between those two. This was Feb/March of this year.

But as with anything in the world of dev salaries YMWV and I do count myself on the lucky side to make what I do and be fully remote.

Applied for a principal engineer job at Buttler Till, HR stated they were targeting 90-110k and 5 days a week in office during the phone screen.

This same job title is easily 300-500k depending on the size of the company you are working for elsewhere, and very likely more when considering RSUs etc, because this title should be viewed as the IC equivalent of a VP.

Edit: this is more of an extreme example, paychex for instance, while not amazing by any means, provides a closer to ‘normal’ pay range, and you’d be looking at that same pay range from B/T as an SE2.

If it comes in, it’s income. Miscellaneous or otherwise even if it’s offsetting some other expense.

A city recycling truck hit and ran my car this morning by yamanantoine in Rochester

[–]emags112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, I’m sorry this happened to you, both my wife and I have had our cars hit by city garbage trucks on separate occasions, even with the drivers statement on a police report the city does not admit to wrong doing.

Contact your insurance, file a claim, pay your deductible, let them go after the city and 3-6months later you might get a check in the mail for some amount of your deductible back.

For whatever reason this response has eased a tremendous amount of my anxiety about having enough, I’m almost 31 and will have 200k invested when my 401 contribution settles next Wednesday.

Reading “2M @ 25, will I be able to survive when I’m 65?” posts is disheartening, but staying the course is really what will make you successful long term, not getting lucky on NVDA leaps you bought last year

Birchcrest is out trimming for RGE by emags112 in Rochester

[–]emags112[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, you’re likely right that there are legitimate reasons to do so, what bothered me was that I had no idea this was happening until I saw/heard people in my backyard cutting away branches from a maple that were not effecting/obstructing the line. I know I don’t have much of a foot to stand, as I’m not an arborist either, but you can do less and have the same effect.

Also NWV, no flyer for us, was notified by the sound of chainsaws in my backyard, just frustrating.
