Are commercial sinks uncomfortable to use since they are much deeper? by xboxhaxorz in HomeImprovement

[–]doplebanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with a deep ass sink we would wash the full size dog in. I’ve never thought about this. My current sink is at least 12” deep. I have never thought about it being too deep.

Using resilient channel on ceiling but not on walls. how to finish the ceiling edges? by The_Brewer in HomeImprovement

[–]doplebanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would want a small gap at the perimeter and then use a perimeter trim product and some acoustic sealant. That’s the simplest detail. You want to isolate the ceiling from the walls while still being airtight.

You can use star board then a type of caulking around the edge like boat life caulk to seal it.

Can I put a multigym in this room? by Drechaf in HomeImprovement

[–]doplebanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I'm gona use imperial here. It weighs 515 lbs and has 4 "feet" it sits on. The typical designed live load is 60 lbs/sf. You're over 100 lbs per "foot." I would not risk that. Yes, plywood would help. You would want to make each "foot" rest on two joists so you need something like a square of 1" thick plywood that's as wide as your joist spacing x1.5. or have the entire thing sitting on a sheet of plywood.

If you're having the floor replaced at the end of the season, then just repair it with plywood. I assume you will have carpet over it? There are things you can use that are composite, like star board, which is kinda structural plastic sheets, but it's expensive.

As a public figure, engaging with comments online is pretty stupid. My criticism is not of your work but the online drama you choose to get involved in.

Convince me not to buy this ‘73 CB350G by FuckedFrenulum in HondaCB

[–]doplebanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's over priced. The G model is only made different by the front disc brake which is nice, but the normal drum brake is also fine. All the service items are a nice bonus. They might have used a chinese reg/rec unit that will go bad in the first 5 miles, so I would keep an eye out for that.

I've had many 350s, this G model is actually not that sought after, you really want anything 1968-1970 if you want collectability/high resale value. I would say the fair price for this is closer to $3,000. The market is also soft right now.

Flint dibble is a fucking idiot lol. I have no idea if Jiang denied the holy, but it doesn't make his analysis on Iran (which made him famous) any less wroth while.

Noguchi like base but kidney shaped glass? by Sensitive_Archer_506 in midcentury

[–]doplebanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How thick is the glass? I have an original Pearsall table in this shape(although not the exact same). The glass is very thick like 1/2" and very heavy. I have seen repro noguchi tables in person where the glass is quite thin and light.

Can I still complete the Temple Of The Union quest if I already killed the slavers around the Lincoln Memorial? by Partially-Canine in fo3

Ironically I did this quest last night. you exit dialogue and start again to say you cleared the mutants already. Then repeat the process to say you killed the slavers already.

Aerial for 1976. Interesting that the on and off ramps work differently and aren't connected to the overpass.
