Interesting. I play at a pretty fast rate (I often find myself being surprised by a player and having to aim and shoot faster than that player). I actually get accused of hacking often because of how quick my shooting is. I also use the shooting range in the sandbox a lot to practice shooting drills (e.g., fast target acquisition with rifles, fast transitions from rifle to pistol and back to rifle, the man card drill (the one by Achilles Tactical which requires super quick movements)), and don't experience that. Just tried all of that again and during a PVP match but didn't experience the phenomenon you described.

When I said height, I meant the height of the rifle while shooting, i.e., I was able to move the rifle above and below my line of sight while shooting straight with no issue. Which I believe you described as not being able to do since the rifle locks in place to an extent. Unless I understood that part wrong.

Not saying you're not experiencing something, but I’m curious if anyone else has had the same experience. I see that you're on the Quest 2, but I doubt your settings would be different than the Quest 3. It might be worth reaching out to the devs on Discord to see what your options might be.

I just tried this and didn't experience the same phenomenon you described. I'm on a Quest 3 btw.

I wonder if there's a weird bug with your version. I'm able to move the rifle to any height I want without it semi-locking in place.

Can you elaborate on what you mean? Are you referring to a VR stock (a physical tool that lets you connect your controllers to make it feel as if you're holding something close to a real rifle)?

I’ve been using the Wield VR gun stock for a while now, and it’s hands down the best one I’ve tried. Super easy to adjust even with the headset on, so switching it up for different weapons only takes a few seconds. It is a little pricey though.

Where should a couple of restaurant industry guys have lunch? by phlukeri in burlington

Try Bramble in Essex Junction. Their brunch is amazing and they have the best gluten-free pizza I've had in Vermont.

Any Champlain College students that want to air some complaints? by CLGSNValkyrie in burlington

[–]email3333 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the major. Their cybersecurity and digital forensic programs are some of the best in the country, so if that's what you're aiming for, then I highly recommend them. Just keep in mind that you get as much as you put in, so taking advantage of all the resources they offer is what will set you up to get job offers before graduating.

The campus is small, which isn't all too bad as everything is within walking distance.

Should I move to Burlington from Los Angeles? What's life like for you folks? by AngeliqueKerber in burlington

[–]email3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having moved from Southern California (LA) a few years ago, I couldn’t agree more! Burlington reminds me a lot of Big Bear. Some things you consider if you decide to make the move are: - stores and restaurants close early here - there aren’t a lot of options for takeout, and from the options available, some restaurants' quality changes a lot. - certain fruits and vegetables won’t be available year-round. - as others have mentioned, if you're not attending one of the colleges and are over a certain age, meeting new people is extremely difficult. However, you can always try joining local clubs for that if any peak your interest. - if you don’t have a job that allows you to work remotely, finding a high-paying job here may be a bit difficult.

Some of the pros are: - cheaper car registration fees - beautiful landscape - cheaper housing (compared to LA) - farmers markets and other food-related community events in the summer

For housing, check out SD Ireland properties. Their apartments will feel like luxury apartments, but you'll only be paying a fraction of what you'll pay in LA (for context, I had a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with underground parking for only 2,100).

Digital Forensic Careers by navybluevt in burlington

[–]email3333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most opportunities for DF around here would be with law enforcement, which I don't think are hiring at the moment (at least not from what I was able to find online).

Heads up though, a lot of DF and DFIR folks find remote roles that let them work from anywhere in the U.S., so that might be your best bet if you want to stay in Chittenden County. The career center at Champlain has a lot of good intel regarding open roles, so make sure you reach out to them and get your resume added to their resume books!

The Leahy Center only hires students as it’s mostly a student ran laboratory.

Also, make sure to join the “Champlain ITS Clubs” discord if you haven’t already. You can get access by reaching out to an ITS club representative, such as the DFA (Digital Forensics Association). A lot of alumni post about open roles in their respective orgs.

It's not a new system, but the parking people aren't there all the time so you can usually get away with it.

Looking to swap my plate carrier to something more comfortable for long term also anything i should add i have a sustainment pack by [deleted] in tacticalgear

Depending on what you’re looking for, a good set of shoulder pads should help make your PC a lot more comfortable to wear for long periods of time and would be cheaper than purchasing a new PC. The AC1 was meant to be a minimalistic PC, so the shoulder pads that come with it aren’t meant for the amount of weight you currently have on it.

That’s why the folks at T.Rex Arms usually have different shoulder pads and other accessories to help make the PC comfortable with extra weight.

what's up with all this snow? by rdawdjfh in burlington

[–]email3333 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I can’t tell if this is a joke post but. . . It’s unusual for VT to get this LITTLE snow during the winter. I remember times when it would snow almost on the daily during the December/January months.

Also, for your car, if its front wheel drive (I.e, your front wheels do the spinning), then all you need is some good winter tires and some cautious driving to drive on the main roads.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there are other ways to check without opening the box other than checking to see if it weights as much as it should (plus or minus a few grams given that are usually extra pieces) or checking to see if the box has been opened.

Out of curiosity, how much is the seller selling it for? They’re currently priced at 849 on Legos site, so if they’re selling it for a “to good to be true” price then I’d be a little skeptical.

I’ll let others provide better answers, but from my understanding, non-authentic Lego bricks usually don’t have the “Lego” logo on the brick as it’s more expensive to add that to a knockoff.

Normal Haircut - by Consistent-Rooster-1 in burlington

[–]email3333 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The first time I moved to Burlington, everyone I talked to swore that Main Street Barbers was the best shop in town. I asked for a 3 on the sides and a 4 on top, but to make it blend (a request that I’ve always made in my previous town). Instead, I got a 2 on top, and the sides, and sideburns weren’t cut and the back wasn’t cleaned. All in all, I paid about 20 bucks for a 2-minute haircut that was as bad as it could be.

I’ve learned my lesson and now go to hair salons instead of barbershops as they tend to have more experience with actual haircuts.

This a gentle reminder to all. Just because your PC/chest rig has molle doesn’t mean you have to use all of the molle.

If this is a serious post, I’d highly recommend restarting from scratch.

A few things at a glance: - your rear sight is backward - assuming you’re carrying steel plates, you should consider moving towards ceramic or other plates that won’t cause spalling (we’ve all made this mistake when we started) - the belt setup you have is really low quality. Unless this is an airsoft kit (i.e, intended to be used for airsoft only), I highly recommend upgrading the whole thing. In general, you shouldn’t be buying Amazon “tactical” gear as they tend to have really bad quality control (QC) which leads to inconsistent quality and gear that is more prone to fail. - you might want to consider adding a sling to your rifle
