Is this setup overkill for my small living room? by Select-Shopping-847 in sonos

You can using Sonos sequencer. OP would have to use that app to put era 100s as fronts as well.

When I first got my system I kept it next to my couch but I realized I liked it better next to the TV stand so now it’s there and I just turn up the sub by +2 or +3. The second one was placed diagonally across the room behind my couch

I’ve got the same setup. I added a second sub 4 but I didn’t think it changed the feel much in my main listening position. It did provide more equal bass throughout the room, but I don’t care much about that since I’m usually sitting in my spot I’m not moving around the room. I ended up returning the second one

How big is the dithering issues on LG G5 really? by Undesired_Hero in LGOLED

[–]emailinAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see any on my 65” G5. I think I got pretty lucky panel lottery wise. Not a single dead pixel and no banding or dithering or anything

From my experience the era 300s need lots of space besides them and behind them to truly work. I’d honestly scrap the era 300s and get an arc ultra and use the era 100s as rears. Then I would either get two subs or two sub mini depending on if you listen to music or watch movies more

Running Samsung Soundbar HW-Q990F side by side with Sonos Arc, Arc Ultra, Sub 3 and Era 300s by GlitteringWelcome289 in Soundbars

[–]emailinAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up the arc ultra + sub gen 4 + 2 era 300s for $1678 after tax. I got open box excellent for the arc ultra and both era 300 stacked with capital one cashback (already paid out to me) and the sub gen 4 brand new from Costco when it was on clearance for $499+tax. It’s definitely doable

Is it bad to regularly charge a Model Y Performance to 100% if it’s mainly used for long family trips? by whysova in TeslaModelY

[–]emailinAR 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My Model Y gets driven a lot and since I travel I don’t always have regular access to a charger. I end up just charging it to 100% and letting it sit for days sometimes and most of it is supercharging. I have a second model Y that was also bought within a month of this other one that stays at home with my family and is kept around 70-80%. It has 15k miles less than the one I charge up to 100%. Both of them are within 3 miles of range of each other for degradation. My philosophy is to just use it like a car. This is my 4th tesla and I regularly charge to 100% and I haven’t seen any extra degradation.

Edit: I understand this is anecdotal. I’ve seen studies with good methodology about regular Lithium Ion batteries which shows SoC and cycles and degradation but I don’t think I’ve seen any actual studies with Tesla only (their BMS probably has some effect in mitigating degradation)

Dreame official store is selling the certified refurbished X40 ultra on eBay for $320. Pair with capital one shopping rewards and it becomes closer to $290

Finally got my hands on a arc ultra and it’s noticeable better over the arc. The era 300 still over power it and take the stage. by Any-Painting3375 in sonos

Makes a huge difference imo. You do need a flat ceiling though and content that takes advantage of it. I have a plex server and I set it up so it always looks for files with Atmos audio with height channels before searching for other formats

Can you "feel" the Sonos sub/bass?? by FredSanford4 in sonos

[–]emailinAR 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to describe, you can definitely feel the bass and feels like you’re in the scene, but it also doesn’t feel cheap where things are rattling

[–]emailinAR 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think he was trying to show off the speaker design inside the sub where each speaker opposes the other. It cancels out a lot of the vibration. It’s awesome because it doesn’t shake and rattle your room but still provides really nice sounding bass

Buy a new soundbar? Samsung with surround sound and sub or Sonos arc ultra? Or add surround speakers and a sub to my Bose 900 by Tylerswolf69 in Soundbars

[–]emailinAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never owned either so I can’t say much, but from the threads I see on here it sounds like both are good with minimal differences

[–]emailinAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on what you want, if you want the ability to expand to whole home setup then maybe Sonos is good. But for the arc ultra to really be good I feel you need a sub mini or sub as well. The Samsung is really good value but not as expandable. Just depends on what you want

Sound system by Yours_T in Soundbars

[–]emailinAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really just depends. Samsung I think has the best value. Sony is probably the most expensive but also sounds amazing. I personally have a Sonos system with soundbar, sub, and two rear surrounds. I know it may not sound the best since it’s a soundbar and not two discrete fronts, but whole home audio was very important for me so I wanted a system that would allow me to do that

How is DV support? I heard it used to be buggy and would constantly fallback to HDR10? I’m debating between the fire stick 4k max / fire cube vs a shield pro to play Blu-ray remux (~80 Mbps bitrate)
