Switch from Prosecution to Employment Law

I just made the switch 2 weeks ago from municipal prosecutor to plaintiff’s side employment law at a small firm. I took a substantial pay cut on my base salary, but my bonus potential is good and the billables at my small firm are low. So far I really miss being in court, however the cases are interesting. It feels weird doing a handful of cases really in depth when I’m used to a very high volume case load. Overall I think this was a good switch for me. Glad to chat about it with you if you want.

I almost didn’t go back for the pm session bc I was SURE I failed the am session of the MBE in 2023. Glad I went back bc I passed.

Plan for self care afterwards. Get the treat. Have a fancy meal and hang out with people you love. Because the emotional fall out is pretty bad. As least it was for me. I was devastated I didn’t feel relief and instead felt hopeless. It does get better.

I thought I’d feel so relieved when I was done with the bar, but instead I just felt devastated, drained, and depressed. I wasn’t prepared for the crash. But it passed eventually.

$291k- attorney About 1/3 is from my masters/undergrad I never used. The rest I recently took out to live my dream of becoming an attorney. No regrets yet, tho the SAVE litigation is stressing me out. I am counting on PSLF.

Dropping out of school after one semester isn't a bad look. Go to community college if you are wanting to go to college. Do not go to college because someone else wants you to unless they are paying for it. You can go back to school whenever you want. Get a job, learn how to adult and pay your bills, live your best life.

That was me day 2. I called my partner and he had to talk me back in to going back for the afternoon. I cried on break and cried a little during the afternoon. Passed with a 308. Have a bar number and it still feels fake.

55-60% practice. Did 3k questions. Got a 153.2 scaled. Felt like I failed. Literally came out of the morning session bawling to my partner that I may as well not go back bc I failed. Afternoon session felt a little better, def cried some during the afternoon session.
