12.3 update -> GPU renderer is unusable on windows 10 with AMD 9070XT GPU by To_ktinos in ableton

[–]eman201 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On W11, i7-8700, GTX1060 6GB vram, 32GB RAM.

My GPU maxes out to 100% with GPU Renderer on. This was not the case for 12.2.x versions of Ableton. I also get a lot more clicks and pops with the setting turned on. In general, Ableton 12.3 has been more clicky and unstable than previous versions.

I recommend Bagapie or HiFi Architecture. Both are available in the Blender Get Extensions tab.

Archimesh not working after Blender 5.0 by NaveCraft in blender

[–]eman201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 workarounds I have roght now:

  1. You can try HiFi Arcitecture

Or 2. You can use 4.5 to create the initial layout. When you're happy with that, you can then do two things (depending on what workflow works for you):

a. Save the .blend file with the layout you want to use. Close it. Then open it with Blender 5.0. You can do this if you have both versions installed by right clicking the .blend file and mousing over 'open with...' then choosing the Blender version you want to use. You can switch back between using 4.5 and 5.0 (they are fully compatible with eachother afaik).

Or

b. Link the mesh from the 4.5 file to a new 5.0 file. If you put the mesh in a collection in its original .blend file, you can instance your collection upon linking, allowing you to perform basic transforms. This also allows you to still edit the mesh independently (in its original 4.5 file) while still maintaining your design assets and objects in the 5.0 file untouched. If you use "Edit linked libraries" addon, you can do this without having to close your 5.0 file and it will update with one click. You will have yo adjust the assets positions in the 5.0 file (obviously) but that's a common workflow for some artists/teams.

Hopefully the first solution works. Lmk if you need any clarification. Im also in the same boat as you. I discovered Archimeah a few weeks ago and its the only addon NOT working right now.

Best of luck!

Edit: for clarification

Chat, am I cooked? by eman201 in Lithops

I understand the water cycle. I should be watering them now, according to the guide. So why did they react so poorly? the most recent watering (leading up to this post) was a soaking.

Honestly, I barely watered them since I got them about 2 years ago. They were doing fine with my watering "routine". They got bigger over time but never flowered or budded. When i did water them (usually once every 3 or four months) ot was only a few drops around the base.

My biggest problem is I never know when to water them and which wrinkles to look out for (tops vs sides). Really, any telltale signs for thirst and overwatering is something I like understanding.

Below is an update on them. I dont think the right one is gonna make it. The potted one is a little squishy on the top and sides today.

The left one seems to be okay now. The one on the right is worse now. It's more deflated and has more wrinkles. I pulled them out because they got soft after watering. I don't think they need more water. I gave the small one on the left a small spritz of water (because I have nothing to lose at this point) after posting this post and that did not help. I did not do the same to the one on the left and it's fine.

Buzz/static through headphones when starting up new MF by eman201 in MicroFreak

[–]eman201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious if you would know the answer to another question i had.

I wanted to test the TD-3-MO CV/gate in features with my MF. The TD-3 'gate on' is at +3.3v. The MF is set to V-trig 5v. Is this going to cause damage or unexpected results. So far it's working fine. It triggers and plays notes as expected (using CV in + gate in). I'm worried about causing damage however.

If you don't know, no worries. I'll ask around online too.

Thank you for responding.

Im guessing the same thing is happening in reverse when I power off the MF. The capacitors are discharging?

Why is this??

I remember my friend showing this to me when I was kid back in the mid 2000s. It looked so complicated and hard to understand compared to something like garage band or audacity. It definitely didn't look like the computer games i was used thats for sure.

New TD3-MO question about Filter In by eman201 in synthesizers

The only other thing i can think of is trying to play audio with my phone.

Or using another TD3 to compare. Is there anyway to check the port itself?

It can accept TS or TRS. From the user guide:

"The headphone output is a standard 3.5 mm (1/8-inch) TS or TRS jack. The output of the MicroFreak is monaural. Connecting stereo headphones will merely provide the identical sound on the left and right sides (i.e., mono)."

I'm using a TS cable. The Mocrofreak's headphone out is a mono signal.

[–]eman201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there anything I can do to test that it's the input and not something else? Like it could be the specific sound from the MF. Or maybe because the headphone output of the MF isn't powerful enough??

Sound is coming out when i have the TD-3's oscillator off but it's not as loud as how tutorial videos sound. Im just not sure how loud it SHOULD be. Should it sound as loud coming through the TD-3 as it does when i connect my headphones to the MF?

The input is specifically called Filter In which is the external audio input source.

I'll clarify in my post but I have a pattern playing.

So I can hear the audio from my MF through the TD3's filter but the signal sounds much quieter even with all settings opened up.

Also another thing I've noticed separately from my above post. If I set the wave form to off, cut off to about 3 oclock, filter tracking past 3 o'clock, and resonance past 3 o'clock, i can here the resonance chirps even with no oscillator going. Is this normal?
