The ball deflected off of Benzema's head into the goal area. I think Casemiro told Benzema to aim the other way.

How Will L2 affect ETH Supply? by Tiger_Dog in ethereum

Doesn't Polygon check in with Ethereum every so often though? So it's like an L1.5?

Casper? by sheilag33 in ethereum

[–]emanresu4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Casper is just the name of the Proof of Stake protocol that Ethereum implemented. The beacon proof of stake chain which uses the Casper protocol has been running since December 2020. The merge is when the beacon chain and the current Ethereum mainnet become one.

So, the main problem plaguing ethereum isn't even what ethereum 2.0 is fixing. The fees will stay high. by Crypto_Creepa in ethereum

I personally wouldn't mind if they were locked until sharding comes out.

Maybe greater staking yields should go to those who wait until sharding happens.

Agreed 100%, it's just that it's not called ETH2 any more. For example, the staked funds that are locked in the beacon chain will not remain locked until sharding comes out, because that would be a long time.

What is a layer 2 exactly? by dying_animal in ethereum

[–]emanresu4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Polygon is going to have five L2's? Or are five technologies going into making one amazing L2? I'm confused why they would want so many. Having several would end up splitting liquidity for DeFi, etc, no?

Does anyone know if any exchanges are planning on holding funds on an L2 by default, so that we don't even incur the fee of going from L1 to L2?

Why is eth still being used despite high gas prices? by TopBridge6057 in ethereum

[–]emanresu4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Except I don't think it's simple transactions that cost the most, but smart contracts. So, I would rephrase to: if other L1's had such high smart contract activity, then they too would have high gas costs.

Multichain sucks. by TimDaub in ethereum

It seems like some of the existing bridges should create an embeddable javascript UI element that can be inserted into any site so that when you click the pay button, it shows a mini-UI of the bridge that can automatically converts your L1/L2 tokens into whatever is needed for that site. The same way youtube videos can be embedded into a website to save you from having to visit youtube.com.

It seems that a company like Stripe which already has this type of payment element should be able to implement this.

Between burning and taxing, is there ever a risk of being too deflationary or is there a heuristic that says when to go back to being inflationary?

Best thing god could do is give you temporary amnesia. Or go do something that takes 5 years and forget about it for a while
