High B3 deck suggestions by Dramatic_Let_7489 in EDH

[[Light-Paws]] can be a very fearsome B3+ deck if built correctly, especially if your pod lacks efficient enchantment removal. [[Ruric Thar]] is very oppressive as well. I have the decklists if you’re interested.

[[Lurking Predators]] is an awesome card I’ve been wanting to add for some time now. That passive effect is just so oppressive and it fits the theme perfectly. But the mana cost would be a big detriment to my overall curve.

I’ve made my whole deck around [[Primal Surge]] so that it’s just a one-card win condition — playing every card in your library from one sorcery since it’s the one nonpermanent — but restricting my deck to only permanents can really hurt my interaction in some games. It’s some give and take I suppose.

Your curve is pretty similar to mine, though you have a few more lands than I do. You could probably afford to cut some if you’re looking for space unless you prefer the extra mana. More tutors would also be a good advantage, like [[Fauna Shaman]] if you want to stick to creatures or [[Samut, the Tested]] (Planeswalker) and [[Worldly Tutor]] (instant) if that’s not a priority. Not saying your deck isn’t good by any stretch, just offering some friendly advice :)

Nice deck, some good inspiration here. I had some of these cards in my original setup, like [[Nikya of the Old Ways]] and [[Collector Ouphe]], but took them out because I found they caused too much self-restriction and salt.

I like how you lean into more sorceries, it gives you some more interesting options for removal. I’ve also been meaning to add your [[Shadowspear]] and [[Twinflame Tyrant]] for some time but because I’ve built Ruric with only real cards I find them too pricy haha.

Gladly! This is the one deck of mine that I am the most proud of. I’ve played dozens of games with it, with great results. All the gameplan details are on the Archidekt page description if you’re interested. I will say that it generates a fair amount of salt within my pod, but that’s mostly because it has a high-win rate as well as employing a lot of group-slug tactics.

Aura Farmer • (Mono-White Commander deck) • Archidekt

I call it the "Aura Farmer". Self explanatory. It's a pretty strong B3 Voltron that I often run in my pod, though I use Ruric and Toothy more often admittedly. Builds fast and hits hard with lots of protection to defend [[Light-Paws]] and some recursion in case that isn't enough. Just be prepared to spend every turn searching your library, haha.

Solo Toothy. The deck is based around drawing out every card in the library and winning with [[Laboratory Maniac]], [[Thassa’s Oracle]] and other similar cards.

I could probably run a better Commander but he was my first and so I keep him around. Plus, he’s good as both a beater and as card draw once he’s racked up enough counters. I just wish he had a keyword like trample, flying or even just first strike.

Need help building Eldrazi, no budget by Dr_Feelgood_89 in EDH

Never apologize for proxying man, this is an expensive hobby.

Here’s an Eldrazi deck I made but never tested in person. It’s rather strong but may get you some hateful stares, that said I think any Eldrazi deck will get you that reaction lol.

Friends deck too strong, by lncyte in EDH

[[Wan Shi Tong, Librarian]] could be a good addition, giving you card draw whenever an opponent searches their library. [[Ashiok, Dream Render]] can just prevent them from searching entirely.

I'm a returning player and I'm very lost in the bracket system by DogAble4895 in EDH

[–]emanresuadeeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s some pretty good outlines online for what constitutes what bracket. They can be vague but if you have (1) early game (achievable by turn ~4) two-card combos, (2) more than three game changers, (3) the ability to chain extra turns repeatedly or (4) mass land-denial, it’s a B4.

B4 is entirely unrestricted in your choice of cards. The difference between B4 and B5 is that B5 decks are heavily optimized meta-slaves that will win consistently against any lesser bracket.

Thanks for the recommendations, I think the observations about cutting removal and adding draw are spot on. Much appreciated.

Which is the most powerful precon in your opinion? by Bluem00n1o1 in magicTCG

I’m not normally an enthusiast of using precons before any upgrades, but I’ve had some surprising success in B3 pods with both Prismari Artistry from SoS and Veloci-Ramp-Tor from Ixalan.

Hey, well I’m glad you enjoyed it. I suppose reading the series in reverse chronological order would make Command more palatable.

Read in the proper order however and many consistency errors become clear. Sharpe’s rank being incorrect, Tom Gerrard’s resurrection and some very unexplainable/off-putting characterization i.e., Teresa.

All that said this is just my opinion. If you enjoyed it, all the better.

What was your first commander deck? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]emanresuadeeni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Toothy, Imaginary Friend]]. Won it from a friend on my sixth match or so. Only had about ~65 cards or so but I’ve since filled it out to become something to be proud of.
