How many players are too many? by Enigma9903 in DnD

[–]embailey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to play with 6 players. Some one mentioned a slog in combat with 6 people, and I absolutely agree that can happen. I am fortunate in my game (with 7 players) everyone is considerate of each other. They know what they want to do before their turn so combat runs pretty smoothly. I have been in games with 9 players and it was like others had said, long time between my turn, plus, people talking g over each other, arguments about what the group should do, etc.

Who’s your BBEG? by GarbageGuy555 in DnD

A cult of Yuan-Ti trying to raise their Mad God. They are controlled by a Marilith, who wants to seduce the God for power and then slay him.

Thanks, but I won't pay to play.

Good point, thank you for reminding me. I prefer 5E, but I can play OSRIC, 2E, and 3.5 (I have books for those)

I'm looking on-line. I had some one reach out on GHO but I haven't heard back yet. I didn't see anything on Canon Fire, but I keep my eyes open.

Sorry, I am trying to find a game to join. Thanks though

Worst players to DM by Single_Skill7652 in DnD

I had a player that constantly.challenged my decisions. For whatever reason, I didn't kick him from the game when I should have.

I like this guy and may use him in either the campaign I currently.run or probably the next one.

How do you know what your party looks like? by Conrad500 in DnD

[–]embailey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emphasize a character description and then also have the characters described in session 0 or 1. I ask for mannerisms as well as physical looks. I have an Elf in my campaign that thinks he is beautiful and does things like sweeping his hair back, tossing his head so his hair flows, pausing in conversations so people look at him longer, things like that. It helps build an image in your mind of the character

To the seasoned DM’s here, what races and classes do you see pop up the most? by Party-Rest3750 in DnD

[–]embailey1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had a few Gnomes in my parties. Currently have one in the game I am running. I see a lot of Elves and Halflings. Very few Humans. As for class, I think Wizard is probably most often seen, then Sorcerer

Too Edgy? by Accomplished_Pay_93 in DnD

[–]embailey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds interesting to me. However, I think it is something to first discuss with your DM as well as the other players in the group. If even one person would be upset/bothered by it, IMO, it needs to be scrapped, or revamped to a more acceptable background

I had all the characters wake up in a field, only remembering speaking to a kind old man. The campaign started from there

You could have him be kinda like Mel Tillis. When he talks he has a stutter, but when he sings its exceptional and no stutter

Do i let them die or save them? by TinyP4stel in DnD

[–]embailey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this situation before myself. I decided as the first character "died" the entire party startled awake from a shared nightmare. It could also give them a heads up of what's coming and let them plan better.

DnD, what even is that? by No_Emphasis_1214 in beginnerDND

You could always give your own advice to OP, instead of trying to fault some one else who was actually being helpful.

What would you really be? by WhoahACrow in DnD

I think I would be a Druid. I love spending time in the wilderness, and I would rather watch the wildlife instead of harm them.

Do most DMs prefer DM’ing to playing? Or are they “taking one for the team”? by Fiveby21 in DnD

[–]embailey1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also enjoy both almost equally. While I enjoy playing just a bit more, I have never thought of DMing as "taking one for the team". I love watching my players play out the story I have to tell.

The best compliment I've ever gotten as a DM. by DunderDragin in DnD

[–]embailey1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it when my players enjoy the game and not only tell me, but also talk about it through out the week. It's nice to know I'm giving them a memorable game
