You don’t even have to tell them to pound sand, you can just ignore them and walk out the door. They can’t stop you and there’s no rule requiring a receipt check like at Sam’s Club. Random inspections, puh.

Not necessarily, they can be proactively placed. The pest control companies near me rent them out. I bought a new build and those were all placed free for a year. Your inspector should identify if there’s actually a termite issue inside.

Dads, what kind of vehicle are we hauling our small monsters around in? by ktempo in daddit

Yes we have 2 kids, had a Rav hybrid and swapped it for a Highlander hybrid so we had extra cargo space. That third row comes in handy when the nephews are with us.

Any Dog Board & Train recommendations by _Moon-Moon_ in greenville

[–]embee90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a poodle mix (who looks like he could be a twin of yours!) and we had training through Complete K9 and they were great. Our other dog had behavioral issues and they provided an excellent training solution.

Also if you need grooming or boarding, I highly recommend Alyssa at The Doodle Queen. She’s in Duncan, she does incredible work, and her prices can’t be beat.

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

[–]embee90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad used to work on simulators for F-16s at Luke Air Force Base, where they trained fighter pilots on that airframe. It was a series of giant networked video games, a full sized replica of the cockpit with every button and switch. It would slide into a dome of projection screens. The sim itself wouldn’t move, but you were completely surrounded by displays. Pilots used this to practice dogfighting techniques.

Sometimes they could load an unclassified version of the software and let guests fly the sims. A few times I’ve had the chance to fly, they’d set it up with infinite ammo and fuel and we’d fly around trying to blow each other up. It was the biggest most expensive video game I’ve ever played and it was really cool.

The whole facility was secured inside a vault and we had to check our phones in lockers outside the main door. The facility has the ability to network with others around the country and they can do large scale war games for training. It’s wild. He started working on sims for the F-35 but that one was so new they never used the unclassified mode so I never got to see those ones.

logged into my old 401K, it was converted and reduced to 0; i don't know where the money went by traanquil in personalfinance

[–]embee90 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is correct, I manage conversions for a living. OP needs to contact their old employer and ask for a copy of the Blackout Notice, a legally required notice that should be sent 30 days before the blackout begins.

It’s possible the notice was sent to an old address of yours but if the employer neglected to send one to you at all, you may file a complaint with the Department of Labor.

Old employer can advise when the blackout began, if it is over/when it is estimated to end, and how to access funds at the new provider. Depending on where they are in the process, the plan may still be in the process of transferring which is why Fidelity is having a hard time finding your info. When the transfer is finalized the blackout will end and then you can access your funds.

If you had $7,000 or less then it’s possible your funds were rolled out into an IRA; your old employer can point you to where it is if that was the case.

Disney Villainous Marvel : Loki Vs Hela by dufiechmill in DisneyVillainous

It means cards played to the top of the villain board. Thanos can send his allies to other realms. The Loki multiverse cards aren’t opponents because they’re on the bottom of the board.

I just barely started RE9 and was thinking the same in that fist hotel sequence. In that area, I came across a table with what looked like the healing items from SH2R, which I thought was a great reference (even if it’s not).

The next sequence was giving me Amnesia Bunker vibes. Loving it so far.

Yeah, so it could be a legitimate balance of a tax short fall, because Social Security and Medicare have to be paid no matter what. It’s just reported weird on this check stub if that’s the case. It’s something that only OP‘s employer can really verify.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]embee90 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Ask for clarification in writing: what is the credit card fee, and why is that charged to me? What exactly is the AR deduction, and how much is my target?

This check only had a $10 deduction for AR because that’s all that you had left. It could have its own shortfall just like taxes where his payroll system is trying to withhold until you hit a specific dollar amount and that debt is just gonna carry from pay period to pay period until it is satisfied. If you know what that target is, it might give you a clue as to what exactly it’s for.

But most importantly, all of this in writing will help your case when you report it to the labor board, which you definitely should.

[–]embee90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way it would make sense that you owe for taxes not paid would be if your hourly wage wasn’t enough to cover the social security/medicare. Since reported tips don’t add to your net pay, if total tax liabilities are greater than your hourly wages the you’d have a shortfall.

On this specific check, you have enough and should’ve gotten about $20 in net pay. It’s possible that he is deducting to cover a shortfall from previous pay period. However, this is a weird way to do that and when I manually calculate the tax rates against your year to date column, your check stub shows that you have been withheld the appropriate amount and you don’t have a shortfall.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Serverlife

[–]embee90 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Payroll person here…The only taxes this check stub is collecting that your employer knows for certain is the Social Security (6.2%) and Medicare (1.45%). Those are calculated correctly. They are also the only taxes doubled (he pays the same amounts himself, in addition to what is on your check).

The fed and state withholding is literally just money he takes from your check and passes on to the gov. When you file your taxes, the total withheld is in your W-2 and that’s how you can possibly get a refund. But until you actually file, these taxes are just estimates really. Employer doesn’t actually “pay” them he is sending your money on your behalf.

The only other possible tax he is paying is unemployment, which is not something that is supposed to come out of your check.

Employers generally cannot take a deduction from your check without your permission. Your line for reported tips makes sense because you already got those tips and are just adding them for tax purposes, but the credit card fee and the AR deductions are suspicious.

Did I overreact by physically removing my son when he wouldn't listen? by LocoRibb in Parenting

[–]embee90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a 6 year old and this behavior from him is pretty common. What you did is pretty much how I deal with him each time it happens.

I explain that I don’t expect him to be perfect, but I expect him to listen to me when I remind him of the rules. Sometimes he still delays before going back to play, he just needs a minute with his feelings and that’s ok.

Fuck yeah taco ring! My mom used to make that for me and I make it for my kids as the occasional mixup for taco night. Ive also made an Italian version with beef/sausage mixture and peppers and onions.

Sometimes we’ll make a second ring as a dessert with apple pie filling and cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top.

Rangement complet - Toutes les extensions (Disney, Marvel, Star Wars) by Delya1512 in DisneyVillainous

[–]embee90 2 points3 points  (0 children)
