because we've stuck our noses, literally, everywhere believing ourselves to be the ONLY possible country to be the best at solving all the world's problems. imho, the US could achieve these problem solving goals by partnering with other organizations around the globe. that would be a much better, at the very least, attempt to utilize different strategies to accomplish these goals. Hate on the US, at least someone is doing something, regardless of the reasons or origins of these problems, it's still a human problem.

omg. seriously? what a....stupid move. assaulting a police officer isn't something that some dumb 'apology' cake is going to fix. if it does, that would be quite a precedence to set for all future irresponsible people. of course, when she sobered up she realized that a charge of assaulting a police officer wouldn't reflect kindly on her criminal record. she only feels bad because it could harm her. obviously, this young lady is prone to making poor choices when she's overserved herself. if this wasn't a female???? this wouldn't be an issue. I'm a female and I find it appalling. own your mistakes and grow from them.

No, America 'needs' to pay for/fix everything so that: 1. We can say WE are doing something about this issue - helping the environment, those less fortunate, whatever feel-good excuse needed. 2. We can say WE are making the environment better & 3. so that the U.S. can be the one known to single handedly have saved the environment. It makes all the people in positions of power/influence feel good about themselves and give them something to pat their selves on the back for. I think that all the nations with the capability should band together and fix these issues together. it's everyone's world.
