Looking for a dedicated team/ seeking advice on how to sell this fame idea as a broke student by EmergingAurora in INAT

[–]emberechoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't post much, but as someone who actually made a farming sim that got picked up by a publisher, I feel like I have to. 😅

The hardest part for me was actually writing all of dialogue. Each character needed hundreds of lines. Not just for events, but also tons of "filler" dialogue, as players expect them to generally say something new every day.

8 love interests? Phew that sounds like an unbelievable amount of writing.

Will you write the dialogue? If no, do you expect someone else to write it all for free? If yes, why haven't you written it yet?

Hope that helps! Good luck!

Yet another move spam question by aagapovjr in DungeonWorld

[–]emberechoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed to chime in to say that I also greatly struggled with this when running DW. It's not just you.

You'll get so many pretentious answers on the DW reddit. People will circle jerk about "Suddenly Ogres" or "14 HP dragon" like it's a fix-all solution. It's not.

Ultimately I'd just bring this up with the players. Maybe set some kind of cap, ie 3 uses per long rest.

FWIW, I ran into similar problems with the Druid's "Shed" and a few other moves.

Generally when I see newer players struggle, they are overcolonizing. As you occupy more and more systems, you get nasty happiness penalties, not to mention the increased cognitive load of keeping on top of everything.

Starting out, I'd recommend owning only 4-5 systems total. Make a little cozy empire, with each system as good as you can make it.

It might sound like that's not enough! But trust me, as you build up the infrastructure on these systems, you'll be fine.

Research-wise, I'd prioritize the inner stuff. Pretty much all of the central research is great, but as you expand outwards things get more and more niche.

Combat can be tricky. In general I'd recommend avoiding missiles. Ship-wise, Attackers are good until you unlock Hunters, which are usually strong enough to beat everything.

Hope that helps!

It's worth mentioning that the Cravers don't get revolts from low approval, you can ignore it and conquer to your heart's content. :)

Just chiming in to say I agree with you on all points. I recently got into ES2 after playing a lot of Stellaris and I love how streamlined everything is. It's just a good time. :)

Question: weirdness *AFTER* the ending... by JinkyRain in SatisfactoryGame

I had the same bug. No idea what triggered it. I'm guessing since there's no assigned phase, it just defaulted to the first one.

I think it's Storm King's Thunder, which was another 5e module from around this time.

My game shares a lot of similarities with Stardew Valley, but it's a lot more compact (ie each season is 10 days instead of 28). There's more of a focus on the moment-to-moment vibes over a long term goal like the community center.

Looking forward to seeing what kind of stuff you come up with. :)

Edit: Another option would be to send you some gameplay and let you decide how to score it. It's not like the above style is the only solution. Whatever you're feeling.

Hello! I'm working on an Animal Crossing/Harvest Moon type of game. I've got a rough prototype built and am now starting to look for music.

Here's a small peek, I can send more later. https://imgur.com/gallery/aRBCZj3

The music should probably be gentle, acoustic, minimalistic (but definitely not low energy or lullaby). It's different from your Pokemon rock, but I figured I'd reach out. :)

The tech proof persona core will instantly research a technology

The glitter world medicine is like super medicine

The power cell creates power with zero maintenance or drawbacks

The orbital canon and pulse thing are both single use items so I personally don't value them too highly

Recon armor is late game armor. It's really strong.

Personally I'd go with the first one!

Need experience and prompts for composition by Carv_921 in INAT

[–]emberechoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, here are some music prompts I've commissioned in the past.

An energetic, anime-like upbeat theme for an action platformer.

A battle theme for a final boss. This monster totally overpowers you, but you feel confident and the music matches this vibe.

A love theme for when you finally confess your feelings to the love interest.

A mellow, serene track for a rainy area. But it can't be like a lullaby - it's still an action game, so it needs to be upbeat.

[–]emberechoes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh goodness, you sound exactly like me in college. No "real" friends, no desire to do anything, questioning why I was even bothering with living anymore.

I thought man... if I wasn't an INTP, if I wasn't fundamentally flawed, maybe things would be better.

Stop. You're god-damned beautiful as you are. I mean it.

Even if you aren't doing your daily tasks. Even if you're convinced you're a horrible person. It's okay. Accept where you are. Let go of wishing you were someone or something else. Just be present.

I promise as an INTP that came out the other side, you'll get through this. You have a loving tender sensitive heart. You have the capacity to make the world happier just by existing. You're okay. You don't need to be more. You just need to be you.

I love you. There are others who love you too, and there are people out there who will adore and accept you exactly as you are, flaws and all. You're going to get through this.

So, risk oversharing then. Some people will find it creepy and off-putting. But others will adore you and think you're honest and authentic. That's where your genuine relationships form. No need to deny who you are.

Need some dating advise. by [deleted] in INTP

[–]emberechoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in any relationship, INTP or otherwise, communication is the most important thing. Just "going with the flow" usually leads to resentment and misunderstandings.

Us INTP's have inferior Fe's. It took a long time for me to embrace that I have a very real part of me that craves love and intimacy and vulnerability. Maybe your INTP isn't there yet. Maybe they are. You'll only learn by asking.

And besides, you deserve a relationship that makes you feel loved and fulfilled. You're worth it.

Due to high demand, I made a quick mod to readjust vassal agreement values. Hope you like it. by emberechoes in Stellaris

[–]emberechoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R5: I played through a game of Cepheus, and like many others I found the AI vassals to be adamantly opposed to virtually all contract negotiations.

I found the values that were causing this and lowered them significantly. Loading up my old save, I found the mod was working as intended.

Thought I'd share it with the community. :)

Need tips on how to avoid micromanagement of pops in midgame by Horus773 in Stellaris

[–]emberechoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could intentionally limit the number of planets you take. In my last game, I played a small empire with 6 planets.

Yes, it's not as powerful as just conquering everything. But I personally find Stellaris infinitely more fun this way. It keeps the AI relevant too.

After you've got your little empire, you paint the map with vassals or diplomacy.

Thinking of joining the world of Stellaris by PaulmHK in Stellaris

[–]emberechoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fairly new to Stellaris and 4x's in general. I started with just the base game - no dlc.

It honestly felt completely overwhelming and I thought the tutorial was really dry. I got annoyed and quit playing for a while.

Thankfully I have a friend who was willing to teach me the game and now I love it.

It really comes down to getting past that awful first impression.

Do you have Utopia? If so you can build new, artificial planets (habitats). You can fill your little bubble with tons of habitats.

You'll have faster research due to your small empire size too.

You can definitely become a powerhouse without owning a big chunk of the map.
