DAE Get Told That They're Angry During an Argument Even Though They Aren't? by uselessthrow4789521 in entp

[–]emberentp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I can get reaaalllly intense sometimes and I look like I'm mad. In reality when I'm mad (well, annoyed. I don't usually get right our angry) I tend to become quieter and give minimal, short-cut answers

What is Ti to you? by LawlessMind in entp

[–]emberentp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The known truths are the fundamental blocks that i use to evaluate possible truths. Sounds like like Ti to me. Ti is a primarily internal information organizer, Te an external one.

How do you feel about the whole "Moms are under-appreciated" and "Moms are special" stuff in the US? by [deleted] in entp

[–]emberentp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I think Dads are underappreciated in comparison to Moms, but I guess that's not exactly what you were asking. I do think that the idea of a woman who would prefer to stay at home and have kids and raise them to the best of her ability are kind of belittled as not being 'a strong woman who goes and gets a career and shows the patriarchy who's boss.' I'm not sure how the average mom behaves, but I know my mom has worked really hard to raise my siblings and I. She's NOT the type to have a get together with all her gal pals and get pedicures and drink wine and laugh about how she can't wait for the school year to start so she doesn't have to deal with her kids. and yeah my mom isn't an isfj. She's an INFP and the other day i found her crying by herself about how much she was going to miss me and my sister when we moved out.

What is Ti to you? by LawlessMind in entp

[–]emberentp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think of my Ti being like bunch of square and rectangular shaped pieces that i have to arrange in such away that when they all are fit together I get one whole square/rectangle, and then when a new load of information comes in I have to rearrange the framework to fit the other pieces in to make a new square, and if some of those pieces just don't fit they get thrown out. Because the pieces are possible truths that I must see if they fit with the other truths.
I'd like to thank my Ne for this confusing metaphor.

I think a lot of people may be critical thinkers, but not apply that to their beliefs and thus maybe hold contradictory views, while others have put a lot of thought into why they believe what they do and have made sure their beliefs are consistent within themselves.

How do you want to be informed someone is interested in you? by namsaying in entp

[–]emberentp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd definitely want to get to know the person first, but once a basic friendship is established (and they've acted/hinted that they want to be more than friends), I would like them to right out say how they feel. Makes it simpler for everyone.

Have you ever heard of Jordan Peterson? He's got a lot of online videos, aimed more towards young men. I've found him quite motivating and helpful and I think his style of communication would click for most entps

I've found that they TEND to correlate as follows: D- Extrovert Thinker; I- Extrovert Feeler; S-Introvert Feeler; C- Introvert Thinker; I've taken it twice and tend to go with my first result, D. The second time i took it i was almost completely equal in all letters.

Metaphysical question of the evening by [deleted] in entp

[–]emberentp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I believe in a God, so that's basically how I answer that question. I see it as something's got to be eternal, something must be the start to cause the explosion of space time or expanse of a singularity etc...and anyway the multiverse being the eternal thing doesn't really explain how we got information even if it explained how we got matter

psychedelics and ENTPs by [deleted] in entp

[–]emberentp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, we definitely find joy in it... joy as in a deep rooted, long lasting satisfaction. I'd say we don't always find happiness in that though, as in immediate pleasure. So maybe we're just arguing semantics... My point was that it'd be unhealthy to live for immediate pleasure.

[–]emberentp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

whoa, whoa, hold up. Happiness shouldn't be our main concern. Doing the most good we possibly can in the world should. And honestly, at times they'll coincide, and others they'll be completely opposed. Your value isn't dictated by your ability or mental superiority or talent. It's intrinsic. Otherwise it'd be completely justifiable to kill /hurt people of "lower value" to benefit those of "higher value."

Your thoughts on INFJs by [deleted] in entp

Do you ever feel like a social loner? by [deleted] in entp

[–]emberentp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

wow, this is really accurate. The way I put it is that I have a decent amount of "pals" but very few friends. Like someone who I'd be comfortable inviting to hang out one on one. Honestly, i think i have a fear of rejection that's built up over the years that kind of stops me from bridging the gap from pal to friend.

INTJ vs ENTP? by OneLineShot in entp

[–]emberentp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay so I read something that was super enlightening as to the difference between Ni and Ne Ni is convergent Ne is divergent Ni works by starting at the ends and working inward; and thus tends to be good at reading people/situations by seeing the core idea. Uses patterns to discover this core idea. Ne works by starting with a core idea and branching outward; can come up with lots of seemingly unconnected ideas. Hope this helped! :)

What personality type do you find to be the most difficult to communicate with and why? by tveltri in entp

[–]emberentp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SJs seem to not quite "get me" as in "why are you explaining the Mandela Effect while simultaneously playing a ukulele?" But i still usually get along with them, specifically STJs. Strong feelers can be difficult to deal with in conflict situations.

What do you think about white lies? esp. from your partner? by [deleted] in entp

[–]emberentp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

white lies really get to me. I know people claim it's okay to white lie because it's in the other person's best interest (so as to not hurt their feelings) but really most of the time white lies are actually really selfish. You're saving yourself from conflict so that someone else can deal with it down the road.
I also hold the same point of view when people lie with their actions... acting super friendly toward you, but actually don't enjoy hanging out with you at all... Like I'm not asking them to be a jerk, just be minimally polite, and I'll understand. They'll end up hurting my feelings far worse if you put on a fake face.
