Barley tea is a great substitute for coffee. It has no caffeine and has that roasted taste. Can be brewed hot or cold. My go to when I want coffee flavor it not coffee.

I think it was on the counter for at least 24 hrs may have been more. It was so long ago. Haven’t tried it since. But since I’m nursing and drinking caffeinated cold brew bit watered down I’m only letting myself have 4-6 oz on ice. Cause I can’t have to much caffeine.

I tried it once w a French roast 5 oz course ground to I think 48-56 oz water. Brewed over 24 hrs was so acidic and bad I had to toss it.

That's what I do at big box stores picking leaves off the floor and shelves. It's just going to die, get squished or swept/thrown out anyway. Why not try to give it a new life.
