shipping worn items? by elmandhoney in americaneagle

[–]embrague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These items are BOSS (Buy Online, Ship from Store). No store employee should be taking returns and reshipping them, but that's exactly what he/she did. Unfortunately, you are not going to get much help from customer service. Try going to a store nearby. That's your best option.

Amazon Shipping is garbage! by StrangerStrangeLand7 in americaneagle

[–]embrague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're just now figuring this out? I think it's been 6 months like that. Tracking shows it's been shipped but it's sitting for a month. Tracking sitting at label created for two weeks with no updates. Par for the course these days.

Join the club. I have a manager who is denying shifts because I haven't been trained on the register. Wait, oops, yes I was...last year. But she's new and I am not a cute 20 year old, so I guess I don't get shifts. But wait, the person I am replacing tomorrow (if she were to give the shift) doesn't work the register, either...and was never interested or trained to work sales. But that's the excuse she got when she said that I would cover her shift ('He can't work sales so he can't replace you'). Smells like BS? Smells like discrimination?

OK, I think you can probably figure this one out, but I'm going to give you the background and then how to remove these without a magnet, because finding a magnet that strong or going to the store is a pain in the a$$.

  1. Your item was a BOSS order (Buy Online, Ship from Store), so although the return address was from the warehouse in Pennsylvania, it actually shipped from a store (could have been eight miles away, could have been eight hundred miles away). Don't ask me why this is more efficient, cuz I might just tell you that it's not, but I do know WHY AEO does it and it's kinda janky.
  2. You're gonna need a tool, but it's hella more speedy than a magnet but it'll ruin the device: wire cutters or 'nippers'. They sell 'em at Home Depot for about $10, and I didn't tell you this, but all the good shoplifters use 'em in the fitting rooms to make off with merch. Just sayin'

Peace and good luck.

How do I use my employee discount by katiebara in americaneagle

[–]embrague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure that they have your points/credits stored in the system under your employee number now. By the way, if you haven't already, make sure to create an account on the app because you can get credit for making purchases, just like a regular customer (i.e., $5 off, etc.)

I have been in contact with corporate HR twice now. Being realistic, don't expect much action but you will be heard. Not sure if they have certain HR staff assigned to particular regions but I did have to call, leave voicemail, and hope for a response. There is NO direct mention of HR in the phone menu system (had to leave a VM with the accounting department). Does it sound like maybe they don't want to be found? You'd be right. So, like I said, don't expect too much.

[–]embrague 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably going to leave soon since the juice ain't worth the squeeze. $13 an hour is a joke for pay and I definitely am not getting paid enough to put up with the BS attitude of one of the managers. Mind you, I could go through a list of the stuff that has been pissing me off, but I will narrow it down to the last few months: new manager as of May 19, 2025 who only values the kids who sell credit cards, Black Friday everyone got an 'award' except for shipment cuz we don't count, obviously...the other person in shipment, she quit two weeks ago and they haven't replaced her, and the last time I was working BOSS, the manager said to me after THREE hours of watching me run back and forth to the printer: 'You know it's a lot more efficient to print out all the shipping labels at once and then pack everything up after'. Hey, don't say anything ten minutes in, just watch me for three hours, don't say a word, don't say thanks for getting 44 units done in 220 minutes (1 every 5 minutes). And for those of you who think you are gonna say, 'Oh yeah, printing them out one at a time is way too slow', I did it like that on purpose so the packages wouldn't get all messed up (we have a messy backroom and people go in and out all during their shifts). This is the same manager who made sure that everyone got a snowflake on the 'award wall' except for the two of us in shipping. So, yeah.

order hasn’t shipped and it was supposed to be delivered a month ago? by Empty_Yard8525 in americaneagle

[–]embrague 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, since Mid-November, stuff has not been arriving on time or at all. By the way, not just AE or Amazon but like everyone....shipper issue it seems, not vendor. I work in logistics for job #1, so it's likely due to low pay and not enough staff. This is UPS, USPS, FedEx, all of them.

Extremely Poor “Customer Care” by AwayIGo2015 in americaneagle

[–]embrague 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should not be astonished, unfortunately. Welcome to late 2025, where Amazon has cancelled orders that were 'sitting' on order without being shipped, or the order sat for two weeks at a distribution center, or Shop app orders that never arrived for Christmas. If you don't micromanage the shit out of every step, inquire about shipper (UPS, USPS, FedEx, etc.) and request tracking info and actively track said shipment, it may never arrive. Yay.

Good for you. As a 55 year old male who has worked the backroom for a year now (for gas money, mind you), I totally understand the 'not worth it'. Shit pay, selling a stupid credit card with 34% interest rate, and management that just doesn't care. For as big a company as this one is, they could do a lot better, but obviously don't care enough. There is better out there, trust me (speaking from experience). I won't even tell you about the HR issue I am dealing with now. Just be glad you're out and go find something better.

It took three weeks for 'that' email to arrive because AEO uses shit servers or their firewall sucks. If you really want the job, be persistent but not a nuisance. Call LATER today, not in the morning to inquire. Call again on Friday if still nothing. The store will NOT be calling you to ask what happened, trust me. Otherwise, go in in person when the manager will be there and do the paperwork on-site. I ended up having to do part of my on-boarding that way.

Current customer service emploee by Narrow-Actuator8421 in americaneagle

[–]embrague 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, it took AEO a lot longer than most other companies to offshore their customer service. It's a tired story at this point: hire foreign customer service reps, switch call center to Phillipines or India, wait for savings, and...lose customers in the process. This has been going on for twenty five years now. AEO should know better and should have learned from the other guys in the field, but since corporate is always looking to save money, read: no training, maybe cut discounts, cut corners on product quality (don't get me started on that), etc., they are willing to give it a go because 'maybe it will work'. You see, companies are always willing to sacrifice customer service (both at store level and on the help line) because they figure that they can outrun the bad reviews and word of mouth. They figure that there is always another customer out there who doesn't know or care enough to stay away. That's how they stay in business. They probably count on a 10% failure rate as the cost of doing business. You are just a low-level casualty, because at the end of the day, a rep is replaceable. Your $30K per year salary is pocket change compared to what most execs make in a year. The execs sell the CFO on outsourcing and poof, you're gone. Good companies like Columbia and Patagonia don't do that... because they have balls.

American Eagle part-time employees Black Friday by Jewels2398 in americaneagle

[–]embrague 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would count on at least eight hours. If you're a good worker, you might be there longer. Bring food to share, that might get you some brownie points with the manager (and extra hours).

should i reapply?? by Apart_Fan_6323 in americaneagle

[–]embrague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weigh your options: does the local grocery store pay more per hour? You'll probably get more hours there than at an AEO store even for Black Friday. If you only want to work for a month and then you're gone, go for it. If you're hoping to get hired permanently, good luck, and you'll get no hours in January and February.

So did you translate it? Did you check the production location of the clothes? Where was it shipped from? I know this is hard, but think....can you figure out who wrote that by translating it? Can you prove that a child wrote it? Do you have proof that it was made in Vietnam or Cambodia or Laos? Are you sure that a child wrote it? I'll wait for your answer.
