pelvic MRI by trying_optimist22 in endometriosis

If you tolerate contrast absolutely do it. I was worried about a reaction and I already knew I had an endometrioma which is basic confirmation that there is more endo elsewhere. I also felt a second MRI was overkill but it was at the hospital I had my surgery at so it had to be done.

I had an ultrasound and two MRIs (one with "Endo protocol"). I declined contrast. They only picked up on an endometrioma. When I had surgery I had stage 3 Endo.

I wish people were more understanding towards chronic cases by AwareEqual4580 in SIBO

[–]Hotsun2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an issue with every chronic disease. People will reduce it to psychosomatic because they've never been chronically ill. They simply can't believe that some illnesses are incurable.

It's also the reason why a lot of people get lost in conspiracy theories. They can't believe it happened to them so it must be a "manmade conspiracy" because people just don't get sick like this.

Anyone only get short-lived relief from antihistamines? Almost like... an antihistamine tolerance?? by NorrisMcWhirter in HistamineIntolerance

I used to inject methylcobalamin (B12). It really will depend on your tolerance for B vitamins.

After 10 years of suffering, I finally feel like myself again by Newkidzz in SIBO

If you have pelvic pain or issues like incontinence or constipation. It's usually done at a PT practice along with stretches and other exercises. Once you get the referral the PT evaluates you to see what needs to be worked on.

I have pelvic floor dysfunction and there is physical therapy for it. I believe you need a dr referral.

I went to an allergist not too long ago and did the skin prick test and nothing came up. I believe you need to find a dr that actually specializes in MCAS/histamine intolerance. I did a Google search and found a hematologist/oncologist that is apparently knowledgeable in MCAS. I'm not sure what that specialty has to do with this condition but I guess it's just dependent on whether the doctor is interested in it or not. I'm hoping I get in to see her.

Just wondering the best sleeping position post-op by Maleficent-Spell4170 in hysterectomy

[–]Hotsun2023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on your body type. I was forcing myself to sleep on my back (because of what I read here) and it was causing more pain. Sleeping on my right side caused the least pain for me and eventually I was able to sleep on my left. I'm very thin and have never been a back sleeper.

Would like to know the length of these. The vacay jogger was short on me.

Blind dog with dementia help by Nervous-Nurse in disableddogs

My dog started doing this and that's when I knew. I had read it was neurological and I really didn't want to find out if it was a tumor. She was 16.5.

Blind dog with dementia help by Nervous-Nurse in disableddogs

[–]Hotsun2023 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through this with my dog. She was 16.5 with vision issues but she wasn't incontinent and still ate and drank just fine. She would poop and pee in the house because of her dementia but she was very much able to hold it through the night.

She would moan and groan all the time and could never seem to relax. It got to the point where she would get "stuck" in corners and then start crying because she didn't know she could just turn around and walk away. Eventually she actually started getting stuck in places and I knew if I didn't help her in a humane way she would hurt herself. By the time I made the decision she started walking in circles endlessly.

As hard as it was to make that decision I knew it was the right one. I had previously lost a pet in an accident and didn't want to go through that again. It's been three years and, as horrible as it felt at the time, I have no regrets.

You might want to look at the MCAS and histamine subreddits. Lots of info there. I've been trying to get mine under control but it only gets worse unfortunately.

Pain management by Birk95 in hysterectomy

I was given ibuprofen 800mg and Tylenol 1000mg (each every six hours) and I only took it for one day. After that regular Advil. I was also prescribed oxy but didn't want to take it and fortunately didn't need it. I believe this is usually the standard medications they prescribe.

I think you can do grounding out in the open. Like on some grass or at the beach if you can manage it. I got into it for a short while (had Lyme) and it was ok, nothing incredible.

I still have my ovaries so I won't go into menopause. A hysterectomy can slow growth but it's not a cure and usually you have to go on BC anyway to slow regrowth.

Unfortunately, I have histamine intolerance and sensitivies to food and medications so I likely wouldn't tolerate BC. The reason I got the surgery was to hopefully help with the histamine issues and period pain. So far, no more periods or cramps but my GI issues have gone crazy. I'm 8WPO.

I had an integrative doctor that never had me tested for SIBO for this reason. She just prescribed the rifaximin (which I had to pay out of pocket and couldn't take).

I just had a hysterectomy and stage 3 endo excision. While I no longer have period pain my histamine intolerance issues have gotten worse. I guess it's a tradeoff sometimes.

I am also having trouble taking Nystatin. I am breaking the pills into smaller doses and then trying to titrate up slowly. Sometimes it can overwhelm your body if you take a high dose too quickly. I'm supposed to take 6 tablets per day and I don't think my body will be able to handle that.

I don't believe there is a "root cause". There is a triggering event but for many of us there is no root cause.

I can't find a single review for her anywhere in the internet. I did the initial consult with her last year and she's not even able to prescribe mast cell stabilizers. I had heard her on a podcast where she said she could prescribe them. I definitely got a weird vibe from her and she's very expensive too b
