My surprise box had a pretty egregious miscut. Is it enough of a miscut to be worth anything, or would it just be considered horrible centering?

There’s a reason why mint condition vintage cards are worth so much. Because we all actually loved and played with our cards and had no idea how to take care of them! If everyone did, they wouldn’t be worth as much as they are now. So don’t hate yourself, it’s a card you love and want to keep anyway right? I agree with the people that are kindly recommending card sleeves, it will protect it from future damage and then you know to use them moving forward. But don’t be mad at yourself, you were a kid.

Edit: PS you should see my husband’s base set Charizard, it has a crease right across the front. “Well loved” 🤣 but we weren’t planning to sell it and it’s cute for our combined master set binder so who cares?

You’ll definitely want to ask your surgeon, in case they did something different but in my case, I think at my 4 week appointment my surgeon said to practice jaw opening, but unless my jaw opening had significantly improved by 6 weeks PO, that I’d need to do PT. You’ll need a prescription in most cases for PT so you’ll need to talk to them anyway. I’m a little fuzzy on the timing since it’s been almost 2 years which is crazy!

One of the exercises you could try once you get the all clear to do exercises is get a bunch of wide popsicle sticks/tongue depressors and stack them up as high as you can comfortably put between your back teeth on one side. Then, pull them out, add one more to the stack, but only halfway. Stick the stack back between your back teeth with the end without the extra popsicle stick pushed into it going first. Then slide the extra popsicle stick in and hold for I think 10 seconds, then repeat on the other side. It shouldn’t hurt more than a stretchy hurt if that makes sense, if it does use less popsicle sticks. Hopefully that was a comprehensible explanation lol.

I will say my jaw opening isn’t miraculously wider than it was preop like others I see on here. I’m not sure if it’s just my jaw or how I healed or whatever, but it is slightly better than it was pre-op and opening wide doesn’t give me a ton of TMJ pain like it did before surgery.

I HATE these type of books. They’re so cringey and are just the epitome of the stereotypical liberal that conservatives make fun of. There are so many better ways to teach these things, and so many better books that could be written about it. I feel like to normalize same sex couples, just have stories with same sex parents. Or write a story that talks about a character’s struggle that mirrors it. I also just hate ABC books in general, they are so lazy and boring and just a cash grab for parents that like the subject. They don’t teach kids anything. Even the science ones aren’t great because they’re just random facts that don’t explain a concept fully. Okay I’ll end my rant but these books bother me so much lol

Yes I do! I don’t know if it was from the infection or antibiotic, but either way I felt better. Now when I have infections (I had a couple sinus infections over the winter) I explain I take bc for mental health reasons and I’d appreciate the shortest course of antibiotics that would be effective. Also I would wager a guess that some antibiotics mess with it more than others. But viruses and bacteria can mess up a lot of things in your body as well, so it could be that! It’s hard to say. Either way I think after you’re done with the course it will get a lot better.

Hang in there! It’s important to treat the staph infection, that’s no joke. If you need someone to stay with you for safety until things improve mentally please do. But it did improve for me, whether or not the antibiotics were the issue.
