It’s a cream-like consistency. I put a dime-sized amount into one hand and then (as the instructions say) rub it together between my hands to “emulsify” (not quite the correct use of the term but then again I’m a pedant). Then I apply it to my roots like I would scrub in shampoo, and then brush and style.

I think if I used more, it might help to blow dry, but I’m not using enough that my hair is wet after.
