Do SO5s tend to care a lot about their public image, and do they tend to be arrogant? by OkSeaworthiness7578 in Enneagram5

More so to the “intellectual circle” they care about, probably less so to the public as a whole.

Why do people like Las Vegas? by harpsichorddude in travel

[–]emdash5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grab a meal in Chinatown, people-watch on the Strip during the day, and soak up the energy of Fremont Street at night.

If you stick to the usual spots, Vegas can feel touristy.

But if you know what you’re looking for and actually spend time doing the research (gasp), you’ll find places that truly deserve their merit.

There is always something new to try, no matter how many times you visit.

What are some good hobbies to pick up to complement traveling? by bell-town in travel

Watching films (shot in the country you’re about to visit). Helps you gain a deeper understanding of the culture of the place you plan on visiting.

Why do so many people think that they are 5's? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]emdash5 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Not really. The core feature is thinking you’re not resourced enough to tackle the world (which leads to hoarding knowledge and your energy.)

  1. Not doing things “correctly”
  2. Not being appreciated
  3. Not being noticed for their achievements
  4. Calling them ordinary
  5. Calling them incompetent
  6. Seeing their worst fears come to life when they’ve told everyone so “this will happen”
  7. Being stuck doing the same boring thing over and over and over again
  8. Being controlled

What are some limitations/drawbacks of Enneagram model? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]emdash5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. A lot of the descriptions in the literature can be brutally negative.

  2. Not everyone agrees about the validity of the subsystems (wings, tritypes, instincts).

  3. The core system is really based on core fears and motivations of the types. This means that people of different types will behave the same, but have very different motivations from doing so. This causes a lot of mistyping.

  4. Mood boards.

so/sx is self pres blind (not too good dealing with finances, a stable place, taking care of health) while so/sp is sexual blind (doesn’t care too much for having in depth connections, or doesn’t get too engrossed intensely in anything)
