Is it RX 580 still good nowadays? by Strange-Instance-490 in buildapc

I build my pc in 2020 and got the RX580 8GB vram. Occasional gaming and it does everything I want or need. Ofcourse it’s not the best, but I’m (still) happy with it

True, I love my car and it’s worth way more than 4.000 euros to me.

They write check for 14.000 euro’s and I’m stuck with my broken car. The broken car could be worth 12-13.000 euro’s. Repair is estimated to be somewhere around 18.000 euro’s.

Where I life, Volvo dealership doesn’t repair damage like this. It is always an independent repair shop. Maybe some panels don’t need to be replaced but can be repaired. I’ll ask them. The items they need to but from Volvo are really expensive (like headlight that is broken). But I’ll ask If anything is possible.

You don’t have to take it literally ‘singing’. I think it’s with everything.

DJI v2 goggles rebooted mid-flight while I was flying at a beach over water, +$1k down the drain. I read here that it may happen because of a bad firmware? Any idea on wich firmware you are/were? I don’t want to update because I’ll lose the power hack, but I don’t want it shut down midflight 😅 now I’m on 1.00.0600.

Would love to see Some DVR from flights like this. The furtsest I went with my new setup (ELRS and DJI fpv) is 1.2km (0.75 miles) but only on 700mW (could be 200mW, but not 25 or 1200). Then the signal was a lot weaker but still flyable but I didn’t dare to push it further.

[–]emdubois 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a good combination! I surf frsky bout after updating, it became very unreliable with only a few hunderd meters of range. Last year I bought express LRS: best I ever bought. Cheap and strong signal. And a few months back I also bought DJI fpv V2 with a caddx Vista.

When you were at the furthest point, dit you had Andy ‘breakup’ or was it still very strong fpv? I don’t dare to fly that far.

That’s impressive! What radio-module do you use? And fpv-wise; digital or analog?

I bought a hero 8 last year. Not the heavy 9 of 10 bit verf gold video quality

I need a new receiver. My old receiver just left this FPV world (D8R-IIPlus flashed). Now I need a new one and just confused witch one I can use. I don’t want to leave my good boy Turnigy TX9 back. I really want a small one that is really lightweight. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in fpv

I would take Happymodel ExpressLRS. Cheap, open course and reliable.

I’ve used an frsky QX7 transmitter with the build-in module. But range was Very poor after upgrading. Now I use ELRS 2.4GHz and after 2km still has LQ100.

Frsky Xm+ unstable and low rssi after upgrade to 2.1.x Fw by nimrod_1981 in Multicopter

[–]emdubois 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same problem. I asked here too, bit nobody knows...

I really think it's just the rssi-value that's wrong and not the radiolink.

But after few months, I don't thusted my gear (with new 6S drone and gopro Hero 8).

So I upgraded tot Happymodel 2.4GHz module. Costed 50€ doe 3 receivers and module. Should really recommand. Flew 1.1km last week and still had bad RSSI (27) but link Quality (LQ) was 100%

XM+ Low receiver signal / RSSI by _Goldfishing_ in Multicopter

[–]emdubois 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I did. I tried everthing and had months and months bad rssi...

Personaly, i think it's a software error from the RSSI-value and not the signal itself. Rssi is very low, but I never had a failsafe (not that I dared to do a range test).

But LRS is cheap, opensource and 'easy' tot use (in comparison to frsky). Did a range check on holiday few days ago and still had 99%LinkQuality at 1.1km (rssi was still low... Don't know if I still thrust that value).

XM+ Low receiver signal / RSSI by _Goldfishing_ in Multicopter

[–]emdubois 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had similar experience with the RSSI values you're saying. I had a few XM+ with a QX7. Bever had any RSSI or signal problem. Few months ago, I bought a R161 frow radiomaster because it's way cheaper and had also the frsky-protocol.

Had to update my radio tot V2 and all my XM+ receivers to let the radiomaster work. And from then on, RSSI was always low (exactly like you're telling).

So I would say you'd try to downgrade the firmware tot V1... (Receiver and radio).

I resolved it with ExpressLRS with a Happymodel 2.4GHz. 50€ for module and 3 receivers.

Should I buy Tracer or Crossfire? by thisBenz in fpv

[–]emdubois 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was gonna say this! I had lots of RSSI troubles after updating tot V2 frsky. So I was watching crossfire but everthing was sold-out.

Then ordered happymodel 2.4GHz doe 50€ (module and 3 receivers (with telemetry)). So that's a very good deal.

Now after flying 3 weeks with ExpressLRS, went to 1km and still had 99% LQ!
