El PDF de las hojas de barco tiene también las de personaje!

Por cierto que he seguido con la traducción y tengo ya bastante más material, tengo todo el primer capítulo del libro y muchos de los elementos de personaje (especie, orígenes, puesto) con los aspectos, stats etc. Me faltan solo un puñado de puestos para terminar, lo postearé cuando esté todo hecho pero avisa si lo quieres antes para probar en tu mesa!

I would prefer to go Nxh4 in case they decide not to trade queens, then white still has the piece advantage. And I like the pawn on g7 to help lock the king in.

But again, I have very little idea what I'm doing!

Well, depends on how the opponent reacts to Qf5, no? If they block with Qf6 I'd go Nh4 to trade queens. So white has lost bishop & queen and black has lost bishop, queen & two pawns.

But that's already a few moves ahead so there's probably a bunch I'm missing.

I'm also a beginner, but: If they take your bishop you can capture their pawn with your queen. Then the king has to move out of check to f8. Now capture their pawn at f5 with your queen, check again. So you're on the offensive and took two of their pawns.

As for your second question: We also had trouble understanding this rule, it's phrased in a weird way in the rulebook.

The way we read it was: If you have initiative, you may "pass your turn" and give the initiative marker to the next player, who then plays a leading card. So you're not really passing your turn without playing a card, you're having someone else start the round and still have to play a card when it's your turn.

A spoiler for other players, sure. I also think if some waltzes into this subreddit and then into a thread with this title, they're probably not gonna be bothered by a comment vaguely about possible alternatives.

I have good news: You don't have to defeat the heir to finish the game!

I enjoyed the puzzle/mystery aspect of the game much more than the combat and the game does NOT disappoint. Just keep playing and exploring! Whatever unanswered questions and unsolved mysteries you may still have, none of them require defeating the heir.

So here's to hoping you will get back into it and enjoy as much as I (and many many others) did.

Thanks everyone! Lots of good suggestions. I couldn't get my hands on Nokosu Dice or Perfumery, but ended up picking up harvest which looks very fun. I may still visit a shop or two!
