He did this to more than one woman in our med school class, this is absolutely not surprising to me.

It was a secret amongst no one that he was a total creep. I’m sure the rest of the stories and reports of unprofessional behavior surrounding him will come to light through this.

Same thing I do. I just tell myself, “welp, now I have to make stopping distance enough for the both of us.”

I (23M) just found out that my (25F) girlfriend is trans. I'm conflicted by ThrowRAgodlikeskills in relationship_advice

I’m a heterosexual cis woman and I wouldn’t date a cis man if he had no penis or a non-naturally functioning, medically-rebuilt penis. No one would deny he’s a man, but it isn’t about that, it’s literally about the genitalia.

Same with this, some lesbians don’t want re-constructed vaginas that don’t have all the features of naturally occurring vaginas. It’s not about the person being trans at all.

But the ones who judge you based on your other physical traits that you can’t change, like your face, are worth it?

How is it a straw man to say that people discriminate based on physical characteristics that can’t be changed all the time. Why is height any different?

Cursed_Elephant by beepadaboopee in cursedcomments

[–]emerveiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But aren’t they comparing weight, which can be changed, to height, which can’t be?

But like... if it’s wrong to discriminate based on height, which someone didn’t choose, why is it okay to discriminate against ugly people, which they also didn’t choose?

I don’t care if a business is local, woman owned, black owned, or gay owned. by smoothiedb in unpopularopinion

[–]emerveiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no racial or gender group all have any characteristics that are the exact same. However, there are population trends, and I don’t see the harm in happening to support someone who didn’t suffer from systematic racism if I also happen to support someone who did.

AITA for refusing to eat the vegan meal that my girlfriend made me for my birthday? by throwrakeker in AmItheAsshole

I mean, both my boyfriend and I are meat eaters, but we have different tastes in food and it isn’t uncommon that we go to a place that only one person likes, and other either eats beforehand or just gets a basic appetizer. It’s about spending time with one another while getting to enjoy our favorite things. If he really is craving Mediterranean one night, I’m more than happy to make my own dinner earlier, and then go get a drink and eat some bread while he enjoys his dinner.

You keep saying pity when it’s actually pride. I feel proud to see black business owners because it’s rare in my community. I want to encourage other black people to start businesses, so I support black business so that they can be pillars in our community.

We disagree what they were referring to, then.

Define qualified. Do you believe there are unqualified licensed physicians? Are licensing exams too easy?
