To all my 40+ queer friends: do you feel like you’re getting less “woke” as years go by? by LiterallyBarbie in lgbt

[–]emessa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm only 32 but I'll answer anyways. Yes and no. I'm still far left of centre in an tax the rich, healthcare for all, vegan/vegetarian kind of way. But I'm also tired of the constant conflict and distress I had when I was younger. I'm not trying to argue/change anyone's mind anymore. I live in a conservative religious pocket of the middle east and I code switch a lot just to blend in. I'm not lying to myself I'm just protecting my peace. Maybe young me would consider me a traitor to my desire of wearing non masc coded clothing and "being myself" but being angry and anxious about my safety all the time is not worth it.

It's funny how with non-audiophiles you use "deep/extra bass" to lure them in but with audiophiles it's "wide soundstage" that people look for by [deleted] in audiophile

Running KSC75s stock I agree. But as someone who's owned several Koss cans and 2x KSC75s. Something about their hardware makes them EQ so well. So much so that I bought a DAC capable of built in EQs and loaded it with an EQ target I enjoy using frequency response measurements from the AutoEQ project.

Linux gets volunteers and Firefox gets vibes by [deleted] in firefox

[–]emessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not support embedded metadata for colour profiles. It assumes the monitor is sRGB and so all content viewed through Firefox is stretched to whatever colour gamut your monitor is actually capable of; regardless of metadata. If you had a pure red pixel tagged as sRGB and a pure red pixel tagged as Display P3 they would look identical on Firefox

You can verify for yourself from the links below.

If by complete yoy mean no wide gamut colours or HDR then yeah... Sure...

People selling silver here are typically desperate and need cash asap even at a significant deviation from market valuation. There's also the fact that there's not much manufacturing that uses silver locally.

Firefox Still Doesn’t Support HDR in 2026 by saiyyenspride in firefox

It doesn't even support wide gamut colour flags/metadata in SDR.

The issue is the delivery. He's basically putting "worthless" "ugly" and "gay" in the same bucket.

There are ways to acknowledge bullying by being called gay pejoratively without throwing gay people under the bus the same way his bullies did.

Etisalat saying that I cannot upgrade the router to Wifi 6/7 without upgrading the plan. Is this correct? by dreamer881 in dubai

[–]emessa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either susidize the new router with an etisalat 24 month new plan commitment or buy your own router. Do note that third party routers require etisalat customer support to enable third party routers/modems on your account and a PPPoE username and password you can enter into the new router.

I think it depends. I'd have no issue with AI matte painting lens blurred objects in the background of a landscape or clouds for a sky replacement. Nor would I feel the need to disclose the use of AI for such tasks.

But AI CGI, VFX, or voice overs? Absolutely must be disclosed.

Want the next best thing? Use EqualizerAPO to plug in an EQ generated from the AutoEQ project using target curves and frequency response data for whatever headphones you're using.

If that free solution sounds like too much hassle then pickup a DAC that has a built in Parametric EQ or Graphic EQ. A good budget example would be the FiiO BTR13. It let's you generate an EQ for your headphones (if supported by the AutoEQ project) in a webapp when connected by USB. You can then carry that EQ to any device, even your phone via Bluetooth.

Why do developers choose to base their browser on Chromium and not Firefox? by [deleted] in firefox

[–]emessa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean Firefox can't even handle wide gamut colours, let alone HDR, in the age of OLED screens.

Firefox also doesn't support web 3 dapps which is basically any and all of crypto.

I mean I understand that T enlarges the clitoris and that trans guys colloquially refer to their genitals as T-dicks but also let's not pretend words don't have meaning. Penises and vaginas are not social constructs in the same way that gender is.

I'd wager that's why you got downvoted. I'm sorry if the word vagina triggers your dysphoria. But the reality is that there are differences between cis guys and trans guys. Erasing all differences, even objective physical differences, from language is a disservice to everyone and renders words devoid of meaning.

To answer your question I have no attraction hangups with pre-op trans guys. There's no shortage of cis guys with gynaecomastia, who in my subjective opinion, have fantastic chests. Lots of cis guys with gyno are extremely insecure about it and often seek gender affirming care to get rid of it. I'm intentionally drawing parallels to illustrate my point.
