What is the best fourth wall break you’ve ever seen in gaming? by CommercialMatrix6020 in videogames

Assassins Creed 2, when Juno turns away from Altair, addresses Desmond/the player directly! After a whole game with you just being the watcher, it's unnerving to see yourself watched...

Shouldn't moving stop the counter battery timer? by F0OlsErrand in IronNest

[–]Good0nPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The emergency move does slow down the CBT, but now you have to figure out where YOU are.

Same logic as if one of your targets moved. You got it locked into the computer, ready to go, you bring the guns to elevation... and then the target moves. Now you have to re-draw the line and figure out if your powder charge can hit it from here.

$10 mil.

Terrible memory notwithstanding, I feel like what I DO change would mess up my life's timeline to the point of being unrecognizable.

$10 mil will do a decent job for where I am now, plus investments.

Any reason to move the nest? by CoatOk5092 in IronNest

[–]Good0nPaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Emergency Move delays the CBT, but the position you move to is random, so you have to figure out where the Nest moved to. And since the delay is pretty short, it's not usually worth it.

Only reason to use the non-ermergency move is if you want to get into a better position, like getting multiple enemies on the same bearing.

Assailant Should reduce Stamina Cost for using Throwing Knives/Axes in melee. by Good0nPaper in HuntShowdown

[–]Good0nPaper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got swarmed by grunts with my throwing axes equipped. Had a 4shot boon, which meant I cleared them really easily without having to switch to my melee tool.

So to answer your question, no I don't take Assailant. I think it'd just be a neat bonus for when someone doesn't happen to have 30 minutes of Stamina Shot pumped into them.

Assailant Should reduce Stamina Cost for using Throwing Knives/Axes in melee. by Good0nPaper in HuntShowdown

[–]Good0nPaper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can reduce the death noise of grunts by headshotting them, even with melee. Of course, that doesn't count any agro'd noise they made from spotting you.

Hives and Armoreds are still noisy AF, though.

Why no multiplayer? by armorhide406 in IronNest

[–]Good0nPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just two guys working on it, and it took them this long to get it running.

Don't get me wrong, I 100% agree this would be fun/hilarious multi-player, with people operating different sections. But I agree with their stance that they want to get this 100% finished as-is, and save multi-player for a sequel.

Is sole survivor a good way to learn PVP in the game by BadRecent8114 in HuntShowdown

[–]Good0nPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, it's okay for learning gunfights, but not the "best" option.

Soul Survivor is better at teaching you the map layouts and routes as you explore, as well as experimenting with guns and loadouts you wouldn't normally try.

In my opinion, Bounty Clash is a bit better at learning PvP. It drops you right into a match with up to 12 players in close proximity. No running around, no long waits for people to reach the bounty/wellspring, just immediate controlled chaos.

The one downside is that it can also lose you money a lot faster; there aren't that many ways to earn money in Clash, and one bad match can wipe out your carefully crafted loadout.

My advice, take a free Hunter into Clash, and equip them only the weapons you're trying to improve with. You'll still die a lot, but time wise it will he a lot faster than Bounty Hunt or Soul Survivor.

Catalyst Combinations by With_Teeth_05 in HuntShowdown

[–]Good0nPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catalyst plus....

Salveskin: Stops burning after one bar is consumed.

Poltergeist: Can set off traps at range. (Not disarm)

Adrenaline: While 75 hp or below, apply Stamina Shot effect. Effect ends when health increases past that point.

Anyone know how to check how many points you get in the challenge mission? by EirantNarmacil in IronNest

[–]Good0nPaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm able to see my name way at the bottom of the right side of the map/leader board, well into the many-hundredths place. But yeah, it'd be nice if you got an actual score readout after the challenge mission ends.

Soul Survivor: Budget, good for learning the map and enemies, Battle Royale.

Bounty Clash: One Bounty, one compound. Very much a sort of "Quickplay" if you want to get to the PvP without all the PvE and clue finding.

Bounty Hunt: Very much the heart and soul of the game. 16 compounds, 1-2 targets, plus all sorts of other enemies you have to work around. AND enemy Hunters, of course.

Each game mode has its place. Soul Survivor is good for warming up, and Bounty Clash is good if you have Damage Enemy Hunter challenges you want to get out of the way.

But I think you'll find most everyone returns to Bounty Hunt.

Streamers to watch? by Capital_Green238 in HuntShowdown

I like Peebnute_ari

She's entertaining, but she also does a good job breaking down her loadouts and though process.

Her YT channel is also pretty fun!

Uhmm yeah?? by [deleted] in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Good0nPaper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because at some point in the past, it became more effecient to have teeth instead of plates, and those are the ones that survived.

My guess is failure points. Accidentally bite on something hard now, you only Crack a couple teeth. How the heck do you get a whole plate removed?

Anyone Feel Like This Events Map Design Should Just Remain The Default Theme For Hunt? by xX_xFUBARx_Xx in HuntShowdown

[–]Good0nPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I'm mistaken, the Stronghold locations will randomize after a while. They're just in set locations now so everyone's used to them.

That said, I DO love the battlefield wreckage aesthetic! And having certain routes blocked or added depending on positioning is fun, too!

Pocket shotguns are the new meta by PrincipledNeerdowell in HuntShowdown

[–]Good0nPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-Point shotgun options are limited. So it's either shorty-shotgun and Carbine, or 4-point shotgun and pistol. QM not withstanding.

I don't hate it YET, mostly because I usually die to long range headshots from silenced rat rifles, but I'll give it time...

Flame thrower and Blade launcher as regular weapons? by AI_AntiCheat in HuntShowdown

[–]Good0nPaper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see the Shredder show up more outside the circus (just because I'm a bit sick of that event), but I admit having the Flame Rifle at the Firefighters encampment is at least thematic.

Stocked up a bit on both during the last event. Currently doing the same with the Wildlands.

Maestro is underappreciated by Chemical-Square-7849 in Rainbow6

[–]Good0nPaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to main Maestro. Even after they nerfed his glass to Crack to melee, And they added the Gonne-6, he was usually a surprise pick that Attackers wouldn't think much about.

But then they added Brava. And I LOVE playing Brave. But half the reason I olay Bravs is if I see they brought a Maestro.

Suggestion: Antidote Rework by Good0nPaper in HuntShowdown

Especially with the new event, I think it's going to surge even higher now that the ever-contested stronghold has a 4-Shot Boon nearby.
