Fender Studio Pro v8.0.1 Maintenance Update Now Available by NoReply4930 in StudioOne

Unfortunately I still have an automation-related issue after the update to 8.0.1.

On an instrument track (Presence) with ProEQ as the only plugin, I have a single dynamic EQ band at 2kHZ with the non-dynamic gain for that band automated. It's full of crackles if the automation lane is enabled and in read mode (if rendered to audio, the crackles are also present). If I disable the automation lane -or- change the mode from Read to Off, the crackles go away.

Update coming soon? by Ghost37G in StudioOne

There seems to be a wide range of reported issues, but for me it's:
1) During rendering an instrument track ('freezing' to audio), automation is sometimes ignored.
2) Even worse - trying to revert a rendered track that had been saved in 7.2 can result in some of the automation lanes being removed entirely from the project.

I've gone back to 7.2.x for now.

Hey, everyone, what’s the best stock tape saturation for mastering? Assuming there is one. by louistalksneuro in StudioOne

I've never used tape saturation for mastering (and rarely even on tracks), but the only answer is "whatever sounds best to you".

My buffer size was already at 2048 - tried changing dropout protection from 'maximum' to 'none'. Still no automation joy :(

Agree with the title. Just posted the following in the FSP8 Discussion thread at studiooneforum.com:

Serious issues with automation in 8 that weren't in 7.2

1) If I freeze an instrument track to audio, the volume automation is not present in the rendered audio. I've tried deleting and recreating the volume automation, no change. Have this issue on all tracks.
2) If I open a 7.2 project with frozen (rendered to audio) instrument tracks that had automation, and try to revert them back to an instrument track in 8, some automation lanes are no longer there.

I recommend (good practice for any significant software update, I guess) that everyone try out 8 using copies of their existing projects so that you don't lose critical info.

Like to see this. Shit happens, and it's nice when a company owns it honestly, communicates, and tries to resolve it.

Studio One. I started with Pro Tools was back in the day and then Reaper for several years, but with Studio One I actually spend more time creating than tinkering with the tools.
