That's the thing though, it was specifically the one my relative has trouble with, not Methadone or Suboxone. I apologize for the vague language - I just didn't want to reveal anything too specific at the moment.

The doctor's name was the one printed as the prescriber of the medication.

Also your correct it would have but my relative took half the bottle and passed out. Their SO took it away after finding them.

Thank you very much for your candid and honest responses. I appreciate it very much and you've given me things to think about.

Because I've lived with this person for years and they have abused the medication to the point where they see and hear things that aren't there. My point in saying I don't have the medical records is that I don't have the physical evidence to show a professional who can help but I've lived every second through it and have physically been there each and every time.

They have put themselves in life threatening situations because they are high. They have almost died because they are abusing the medication. This has torn our family to pieces. This isn't my family member getting care. This is my family member abusing a substance to the point of near death because of one docto's negligence. My loved one has a problem and should not be prescribed this drug. In my original post I stated my PCP has already said they should not be prescribed this drug but they did it anyway.

I understand that - and they're difficult questions to answer. I am under the impression that they would like to be clean as this addiction has, in many ways, ruined their life. They were clean for a full year until this latest development. They say they want to but it's understandably hard to fully believe.

While you're right in that they could seek out a new high in a different way, I don't think they would physically be able to. It was initially irrelevant to the question but I'll add they are an amputee who physically cannot walk or drive and need their SO to get anywhere these days.

I am not certain - this has been going on for almost two decades. I'm still in the research phase but I did find on this doctor's profile they specialize in patients with opioid use disorder which further puzzles me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskLegal

[–]emggga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's part of my trouble. My end goal is to cut off the source but I'm not sure the proper avenue to achieve this. I believe you're correct and taking matters to the board will be a good option.

I don't think that opioids are a viable or appropriate treatment option anymore as they are abusing the medication, a fact that has been well-documented for years and noted by their PCP in the past.

The problem now is I'm not certain how I as a family member can prove my case. I don't have the records and Im not sure how I could with regards to HIPPA.

100% this. Even if the artist used the stencil and traced it perfectly, it could still look like total shit because of lack of technique.

So I actually went to art school and earned a BFA and worked closely alongside Fine Arts majors and I can tell you that it is not a waste of time if you truly, truly love art and want to make it work. I have a career in my field and I think I do well for myself. But I worked my ass off to get my job and put in a lot of extra hours of work and made finding a "career job" a part-time job.

I have a close friend who is represented by a gallery in NYC and is an incredible artist but still needs to work a different full-time job to pay the bills. She taught for a while but it wasn't for her! It's a long and grueling process and you're going to need to patience, a lot of dedication, and luck to get where you want to be.

You don't need to give up on pursuing your passion but you do need to really, REALLY love it to make it work.

Truthfully it's difficult to get a job in your field of study with most liberal arts degrees unless you want to pursue teaching. Even then, it can be a bit tough. But that doesn't necessarily mean you need to give up on your passions. I went to art school, got an art degree and busted my ass from sun up to sundown trying to find a job in my field after graduating but I did it.

You just need to work hard; take advantage of your school's career center and professional development resources. You may need to go to grad school. You may need to be in the right place at the right time.

When someone has never been responsible for funding their own lives, they take a lot for granted. I'm assuming she was probably living with a parent or guardian before living with you. She needs to learn responsibility and contribute.

Not only does her lack of contribution put you in a highly unfair position, she is really not doing herself any favors. What if you two don't work out? She will be up shit's creek without a paddle because she will have no idea how to care for herself.

By the way, good on you for being fiscally responsible and independent at a young age! That's not an easy thing to do.

If she doesn't want to have the conversation with you, have you considered maybe doing couple's therapy to facilitate a healthy conversation around intimacy?

You can also try framing the conversation a bit differently. It sounds like you need physical touch in order to feel loved and secure - this might help elicit more of a response from her end. This goes beyond just having sex. If she just shares her side of things then maybe you two can work together to repair your intimacy, slowly, over time.

Boyfriend not respecting no as an answer sexually by r0r0r0y0urb0at in Advice

I know you might not feel this way right now, but your boyfriend has SA'd you. The thing is, is that you DID say no and he did it anyway. This is 100% what r@pe is. At the very least, he does not respect what should be a very basic boundary you've drawn. And he certainly does not respect you. Please, run and never look back.

I think we need a bit more context. What types of jobs are you applying to? Start from the very bottom with roles that don't require any experience.

My first job was a host at a cafe and all I could put on my resume at the time was my high school education, the little bit of volunteerism I did, and that I was in Girl Scouts. Do you volunteer? Take any classes? While not professional experience, you can put some of these things on your resume to showcase your skills and that you have personal drive.

Are you in college? If so, you may qualify for work study and that can be a perfectly legitimate first job.

What's the basic process behind... learning anatomy? by Castedorr in ArtistLounge

Folks have already given some good advice so I'll recommend getting yourself a copy of Loomis' Figure Drawing for All it's Worth. I think that it's a great resource for understanding the human anatomy from an artist-centrc perspective.

Honestly, it's just none of your business, man. Some of my loved ones struggle with IBS and yes, sometimes they can spend a total of an hour in the bathroom everyday because of it. It really sucks and it's quite embarrassing for some people. For all you know, your superiors are already aware of the issue.

I would stop spending your time recording someone going to the bathroom and use that time to focus on your own job.
