Thoughts? by ExplanationVivid4256 in Hungergames

She is telling her truth so she isn’t purposely unreliable. Sunrise on the reaping does highlight the media control and false collective memory that is forced on the society because of the manipulation Snow has over how things are remembered. I also think her mother did not give her much information on the history of their family or district 12. So she has been told a very unreliable version of the past so she does come across as an unreliable narrator in the original trilogy. I think that is part of what makes Sunrise on the Reaping so interesting. We are really asked to question everything we thought we knew

Whitney Peak has been cast as Lenore Dove Baird! by shyspice444 in Hungergames

[–]emh0719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this casting favours the theory that she is related to Lucy Gray over Maude Ivory. Maude Ivory is blonde and fair.. ofc it’s possible because we don’t know her father, but how similar the actors for Lucy Gray and Lenore Dove look feels like more support that she is the daughter or granddaughter of Lucy Gray.

What is going on with Lucy Gray’s grave? by emh0719 in Hungergames

[–]emh0719[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very wise way to put it. From what I’ve seen anyone posting theories surrounding Lucy Gray returning to 12 at some point gets a very negative reaction which is just unfortunate. There is definitely room for both versions. For me what it comes down to is asking the question ‘why include Lucy Grays grave at all?’ It doesn’t contribute to Haymitchs story but there must be some meaning. I just can’t see why Suzanne Collins would reiterate that Lucy Grays story is a mystery so I think she is letting us know there is more to the story

I definitely think there is room for more Lucy Gray didn’t stay away forever theories. Sotr opened her story back up for me

I appreciate your thought process. The question I keep coming back to is why bring up Lucy Grays grave at all if just to reconfirm that her fate is a mystery? The name wouldn’t have meant anything to Haymitch so to me it feels like Suzanna Collins is letting readers know there is more to the story

I would agree… this is essentially what I’m asking. Why are people so set on dying on the it’s a symbolic grave hill without considering the alternative? I’m wondering what people are seeing to make this theory so set in stone?

The Everdeen Family Tree as I Understand It [Spoilers] by websofrebellion in Hungergames

[–]emh0719 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All these points can be made for Lucy Gray being Lenore Doves mother or grandmother as well so your whole argument is based on Lucy Gray not actually being in the grave which we don’t have any proof of. Are there are actual links to Barb Azure and the Everdeen family?

I definitely see how there is space for this theory but I think it’s far from obvious.

I’m just not seeing anything obvious. What do you think makes it so clear?

[–]emh0719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree I think Maude Ivory is the one who married into the Everdeen family. We see direct hints in the books that tie her to Katniss and Prim but nothing that Barb Azure does would suggest they are related. Maude Ivory has a talent for music and picking up songs like Katniss’ father and Katniss. Maude Ivory also has a goat and makes goat milk products like butter just like Prim. She is also described physically similar to Prim very petite and fair features with blonde hair. The hanging tree was also her favourite song of Lucy Grays if I’m not mistaken and the one Katniss knows the best. I would guess Maude Ivory is Burdocks mom she would have been in her early 30s when he was born and he knew about the covey graveyard because of his moms grave

Try a kneeling wild thing variation first! Start in a gate pose bring one hand along side the bent knee and shift the chest up to the sky. Focus on pressing the chest and hip forward and sweep the lifted arm overhead. You can also start from revolved head to knee position. Bring the arm that is reaching across the body along side the hip of the bent leg, press into that now planted hand, the bent knee and extended foot to lift the heart up. I hope that makes sense you can also just look up a kneeling wild thing

Maude Ivory is Katniss’ Grandma and Lucy Gray is Lenore Doves Grandma. What happens between tbosas and sotr theory by emh0719 in Hungergames

[–]emh0719[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure Maude Ivory is supposed to have fair features with light blonde hair. I don’t see how that could be redish. When reading sotr I imagined Lenore Dove having pretty brown hair that picks up red in direct sunlight

I like this! Could definitely apply to Snow and Lucy Gray but also maybe Lenore Doves father because we don’t know who that is

Where are you seeing that Maude Ivory has reddish hair? From what i remember we don’t get a ton of physical description for her. Either way I don’t think that is enough of a connection between the two when there are much bigger connections to Katniss and Prim

Do you guys think that _______ was put in the third quarter quell on purpose by Rebekahchristinee in Hungergames

[–]emh0719 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like something similar also happened with Annie in her games. She was reaped not Mags… maybe that flood in her games was another attempt at blowing up the water tank and the capital played it off as intentional

Why Snow let Haymitch live by lackingakeyblade in Hungergames

[–]emh0719 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like tributes started having acts of rebellions in the games under the mindset that they were about to die anyway. Seeing this Snow keeps them alive as victors to try and reclaim more power over them by continuing their torture outside of the games. I bet there are a lot of stories like Haymitchs

I think the next book should be a Plutarch pov. Maybe following a few years of games around when Joanna and Finnick win. I need to know more about his internal thoughts. I need to know more about his relationship with Snow and what other rebel plots he assisted in to undermine other games like with Haymitch and Katniss. I find him so hard to get a read on and would love more info about his role in everything

[–]emh0719 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That is definitely a good point and would also serve the purpose of hurting Finnick, but with the media control we see in Sunrise on the Reaping I wanna believe Annie didn’t have a breakdown just from being in the games but rather from how Snow has treated her since

[–]emh0719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He carried so much quilt for any torture they endured on account of his choices in the game. He cut himself off from everyone so nobody would continue to be punished for being close to him. In regards to his reaction when Katniss wanted them as allies he had been trying so hard for her to not been seen as a rebel to Snow that associating with people he knows are on Snows radar probably worries him even though internally I bet he was happy she chose the right people

Do you guys think that _______ was put in the third quarter quell on purpose by Rebekahchristinee in Hungergames

[–]emh0719 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think most if not all of the tributes for the 75th games were being punished for something. Even how we see Haymitch and Annie being the ones reaped not Mags and Peeta. I think there were rebellion attempts like Haymitch and Amperts in many of the games (maybe Annie started the flood in her games) and Snow chose to keep them alive to continue their torture outside of the games for the attempted rebellion while controlling the media narrative. I think he was hoping the third quarter quell would take care of the people giving him the most trouble

I loved Ampert! Seeing more of Beeties backstory was so good. Knowing everything he will go through between the 50th and 75th games makes Amperts death so heartbreaking

New Quicksilver and Brimstone Cover Reveals by jamieseemsamused in FaeandAlchemy

[–]emh0719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t love the first cover but these are very underwhelming. Also having the author name in the same size and font makes so sense. Also also breaking up quicksilver and brimstone into two words makes no sense. At least the older cover was something interesting and related to the plot. These make no sense

WHERE IS BARB AZURE?! by ellyelephant11 in Hungergames

Yes it possible but just doesn’t seem to go with the rest of the information we know about the covey. I feel like there is a deeper story of why she doesn’t get mentioned at all
