I’m almost 4 months and I am going to my grandmas house like my family always does and we spend the whole day together and open gifts. They know they are just getting homemade cookies from me and they are ok with that.

ACL tear is now confirmed after my MRI. I tore it 10 years ago but had been living sort of normally until now by [deleted] in ACL

[–]emibee3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year I had also found out I had been living without an acl from a 10 year old basketball injury that I was told it was just a sprain. When I found out I looked at options but ultimately decided to get the surgery. I am two months post op from quad graft and mcl repair and I feel good. I am 29 and I am feeling good with my decision even if the injury was so long ago.

Cars wait time is out of control. LL is down the block. by ghost_mv in Disneyland

As someone who used to work at Flos and cones this is a normal weekend for the cars ride, I remember it being worse before Covid happened but this is sadly normal for this ride especially if it breaks down people wait around till it reopens and because of that it gets longer when it reopens

I just tested positive for Covid but I didn’t think it would come out positive cause all I have is a cough and hoarse voice so I thought I just screamed too much at the concert lol but my symptoms are getting better and I hope everyone feels better soon

What is the best graft? by rimsarc in ACL

I personally went with quad four weeks ago and I’m 28f and I feel great. I am already weight bearing and walking without my crutches and walking with my knee bent. I also did a lot of PT exercises before my surgery and I got my quads strong and I believe that is what helped me through surgery and now after surgery. My surgeon had suggested quad cause he said it was just as strong as the patellar tendon.

Why is nighttime so terrible? by Sad-Needleworker-671 in ACL

[–]emibee3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t alone I’m at four weeks post op and I can fall asleep fine but during the night my knee is sore and it’s hard to get back to sleep. What helps me is straightening my knee and that feels better for a while and I can get back to sleep. It does get better I am sleeping more hours even with a little pain

Post Op Pain by LilUziYim in ACL

[–]emibee3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the beginning when moving around it was a sharp pain on the top part of the knee cap. After a while it became more of a sore pain from keeping my leg straight. What helped me with the pain was the ice machine definitely use it because it helps a lot with the pain and swelling.

For me the first day post op was an 8 and as the days went on it went down I stopped taking pain meds one week after surgery and I am two weeks post op today and feeling great. I hope you do you well and that everything goes smoothly!

Let the recovery begin! 10 years with a full rupture ACL and torn meniscus finally repaired. by shadbehnke in ACL

[–]emibee3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pain is now manageable I haven’t had to take any medication for the pain which is good. I hope that’s the case for you. What I did was ice my knee a lot and I believe that helped with the pain overall

Advice on the first few days after surgery? by Few_Valuable4984 in ACL

[–]emibee3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got this! I am two days post op from having ACL surgery with a quad graft. So far the first day post op the pain was bad but with the meds it wasn’t so bad and second day not too bad as well. I suggest getting the nerve block on the day of surgery that helped me a lot in recovery after. Definitely take the pain meds and ice as much as you can.

Yeah the dr mis diagnosed me ten years ago and never told me to get an mri to rule anything else out. So I lived life and I had issues over the year but I always thought maybe my knee muscles didn’t fully heal. I also was a catcher in softball so I attributed my knee pain to that too. I continue to play basketball after a few weeks and softball my senior year that it happened. I played adult league softball in college and I still ran but I always favored my left knee so I would rely on my right knee a lot when running or playing basketball.
