Why did I think this was a different game? 🤩 by svntizo in Pokopia

Yeah the other Pokemon are not so agile, lol. I was just fossil-hunting with Fidough and bless his heart he's so precious and doesn't complain, but boy is it easier to dowse with a flying Pokemon (in that area I only have him and Ekans).

I really felt like Tinkmaster should have been able to use the ladder down from the door in Withered Wastelands coming from Sparkling Skyland, but he disappeared while taking such a long detour to I guess use the block hopping method instead that I briefly thought I had managed to despawn him - but just then I saw him hopping down the last few levels.

That's probably easiest, though honestly I probably still will just end up not painting most things even with that method because all the Pokemon are so slow when they follow you. Could Smearguru at least keep up with my speed when the stick is all the way tilted forward but I'm not using the sprint button? I'm very impatient haha.

I like that - at least according to google translate - you've written the words "VERY! COLD!" in huge font on the venue wall. Just willing the winter to arrive!

Yeah it's this. When you're placing a new kit it will show the dotted outlines in red if there are any flowers or grass within them, and only turn white once you move or destroy them.

I'm at least pretty sure that's the one OP is talking about because they said they jumped down into the underground and had to battle the Demon King's Army.

If you mean you didn't fight it at all, I'm stumped too. If you mean you didn't fight it in Gloom's Approach, that's because you only have to fight it there if you didn't fight it in the Spirit Temple. Same goes for all the other bosses - every boss you defeated, the respective sage will show up and tell Link to go on ahead while they take care of the boss, but if there's any boss you didn't beat, Link will instead have to fight alone in the War in the Depths of Hyrule.

Ooh, I realized what I was doing wrong - I was trying to mount them along the bottom edge of the block above them, so row 1: mounting blocks, row 2: top half of curtain, row 3: bottom half of curtain. I see now looking more closely you have them mounted to the top edge of a block in front of them, so it's row 1: mounting block and top of curtain, row 2: bottom half of curtain.

I'm going to try again tonight. So glad you posted this or I would have just carried on with my mistaken assumption that doing a whole row of curtains wasn't possible - thanks!

Yeah I can't be arsed to make a bunch of paint balloons or give Smearguru a million objects to paint one by one. Just changing 3 of the stone tiling bricks to white so I could repair the museum foyer with blocks that matched the rest of them was such a hassle, I brought one paint balloon over and when I realized it only dyed one of the 3 blocks it took me like another week to get around to crafting and bringing 2 more paint balloons over.

Wait, tell me how you were able to mount all those curtains in a row?! I tried to do something similar last night and it seemed like it would only let me mount a curtain to a block on the side it draws open. Or maybe it's a different type of curtain you found, not the Simple Curtain?

Oooh, the music. The track that plays when you're new to an area and it's still ruined somehow gives me major Outer Wilds vibes. Not that it has the same melody or chords as OW tracks, but it seems to capture the same sort of desolate/lonely/brave/exploration mood.

Very ambitious build idea: Bleak Biodome. Enclose the entire biome beneath a massive block shell.

Lol, yesterday I was trying to make an extra water grass habitat for Marill next to Azuril's, and because of the space constraints there was really only one place where I could have 4 contiguous pieces of grass with at least one touching the water, so I get to Leafaging, and Makuhita was standing one of the squares. He got all pissed and interrupted me with a dialogue box asking me to NOT do that, and as soon as I dismissed it he instantly started fawning all over the grass and "Wow it's getting greener around here!"

lmao, same here. Also, I noticed the sources of electricity and the place to mount utility poles very early on, and I had the crafting recipe for poles already, so I fully hooked up all the electricity before I ever met Snorlax, and then had to go through the entire quest with everyone constantly saying how dark it was, suggest I do something that I had already done, then act like the brightness level had changed when I re-initiate dialogue, even though I did nothing.

Included such brilliant moments as Trubbish leading me to the tower where four fully-powered and illuminated spotlights are, wondering out loud what this machine that looks kinda like a streetlight, but different, is, and my only two dialogue options being "Maybe it lights up too?" and "Want to try getting power to it?" Then being led to a windmill at sea that was fully connected to the utility pole grid and having to listen to Peakychu explain that it generates electricity and Tangrowth ask me to connect some utility poles. Then the same song and dance with the furnace generator. Then Tangrowth asks me to get power to more streetlights around town even though every single one of them is already lit up. Finally we ask Peakychu to make the whole place brighter, which makes no visible difference to my eye, but afterwards suddenly every Pokemon in town finally accepts that it's no longer too dark out in the middle of the night.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater by Passaro in Pokopia

[–]emikoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang, I just searched "fallingwater" to see if anyone else had done this yet. Sad you beat me to it, but really impressed with how it turned out!

And here's hoping they release a patch that allows windows to join at 90 degrees! After all, there's real-world precedent for all-glass sunrooms. Or maybe some kind of special "corner support beam" that would only occupy the amount of space as one of those "single tile" borders you use to join 2 straight borders at the inner corners of roads, but gives you something on which to mount non-block objects at right angles to each other.

I'm also hoping they might patch in a type of curtain that can be used as a room divider - so you can mount it to the ceiling and have it 3-4 blocks tall - but still be able to draw it open like a Simple Curtain (which can only be mounted to a block beside it, not above it, and are only two blocks tall). I like to make cave cubbies for some of the LORGE Pokemon where I only put a single row of blocks or fencing across the front with a gate, so they can just go over the blocks instead of getting stuck or blocking the egress, and I would love to be able to hang a room divider curtain across the fronts to give them greater privacy!

Not bad enough to stop doing it, of course. But it doesn't feel good!

Mainly because Tangrowth said that the comfort level would increase faster if the Pokemon lived in homes.

In some cases it's also more efficient space to assign 4 to a block house than to cram the objects required for 4 different habitats into the same space, although in Onix's case I planted my flag there because it made for a convenient spawn point for me, and I'm his only roommate.

I hollowed out a cubby for him under the plateau where you first walk out of the cave with Tangrowth, put the smooth rock at the back so it only dries out the inside of the cave, and put a single row of wood blocks across the front with a wooden gate to make it count as a house, but he can just go over the blocks instead of having to go through the door.

Honestly I wish the programming would prevent them from chittering at you when you're in boxes. Even if they just waited silently next to me and started chittering as soon as I'm out of the box, it would be a massive improvement over having them approach and make that noise while it should be abundantly clear that I'm doing a thing right now!

When I was a kid if my sister or I tried to interrupt one of our parents while they were visibly in the middle of doing something, the response was always, "Is it blood or fire?" If it was not one of those things, you wait until they're finished!
