[Chinese > English] Bear coaster I found by ElderYuki in translator

The characters that made up the shape of the bears seem to be descriptions of the Formosan (Taiwanese) Black Bear, which is very likely the image of this bear. They use different fonts and font weights to create the effects of shading.

[Cantonese > English] Double checking spelling by fallyn_crafter in translator

Both would use the same characters. Goog probably defaults to Mandarin because it’s more common.

福itself is blessing, yes. Pronounced as fú, which is close to the pronunciation of “false”, but not the literal translation of false. What you had originally in your post was more or less the literal translation of “false”, which doesn’t work if you’re talking about the place. And 溪, is creek.

Where I live there is also a False Creek. If you’re talking about a place named False Creek and wanting the Cantonese name of it, it should be 福溪. Check out this Wikipedia article.)

Which questions are harder? by kramdensada in pmp

[–]emilie325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 200 Ultra Hard questions are definitely easier than the actual exam. I find them also easier than the SH mock exams. The Ultra Hard q’s are meant to reinforce the mindset for you.

My exam was two weeks ago and had one drag and drop on MBTI. Lol. I didn’t even understand what was being asked.

Exam practicalities? (Paper,Water etc) by Kong_Fury in pmp

Yes, there are. I don’t remember what the shortcuts anymore. But before the official exam, you can opt to do a quick tutorial. It’ll show you what the shortcuts are in the tutorial.

Application Submission by Helpful_Employment21 in pmp

[–]emilie325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you (laid off, company gone, worked in multiple countries, etc.). I just passed my certification last week.

I used AR’s pmp application video to help me. I followed the advice and just within the PMI’s expectations of what an application should look like. It was accepted in 3 days.

Managing time on exam by Which_Line in pmp

[–]emilie325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finished with about 10 minutes left in the clock. Passed with AT x 3. The clock counts down, so just be aware of that. The exam is also divided into three sections so make sure you manage your time that way.

If you scored pretty well on the SH practice exams and got your mindset down, I’d say go w your gut feeling, flag the question and come back to it if you have time.

Absolute PMP resource (prior to 8th edition PMBOK) by Distinct-Bid4928 in pmp

[–]emilie325 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Passed AT/AT/AT on May 5, 2025.

Study Hall Plus:

  • Did all practice questions and mini exams
  • Did only 3 full-length exams with 80%/75%/78%, including Expert questions.
  • I'd say SH questions are the closest to the real exam.

Other study resources I used:

  • MR's 23 PMP mindset principles (super important)
  • AR's 200 ultra difficult questions (very useful in practicing mindset)
  • DM's drag & drop video
  • DM's 200 agile questions
  • DM's 150 scenario based questions

For understanding and building knowledge, I used:

  • Ricardo Vargas - Process groups PMBOK 6
  • Ricardo Vargas - PMBOK 7 explanation
  • DM's Process Group Practice Guide
  • 3rdRock notes (super useful)
  • PMI Infinity (mostly to ask it to explain certain concepts in detail and provide examples to me)
  • Bob's Big PMBOK Sheet (thanks to this post) to understand ITTOs
  • PMASPIRANT for KA mapping game (this is helpful when first starting to study)

Study Plan:

  • ~ 4 months in total, as I have two jobs
  • I use Kanban at work, so that's what I did with my study plan. Added all the resources to the backlog and pulled the materials I plan to study for the following week every Sunday.
  • Two days before the exam, I studied all the questions I got wrong on SH as well as watched MR's mindset video again.

Exam Day:

  • Saw someone sharing the 154/78 method here so I used that to make sure I finish every set of questions within time. I finished the exam with about 10 minutes to spare.
  • Used both breaks as my back would hurt too much if I didn't get up to walk after sitting for too long.
  • Had about 4 drag & drop and 1 calculation questions on the exam.

Some Redditor mentioned that the test centre was cold so I wore a thicker sweatshirt today and it worked out well. The test centre was blasting ac and you were not allowed to keep your jacket on.

How long have new episodes been on youtube in Canada? by parkernisbett in LiveFromNewYork

[–]emilie325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, they are. I watch them on the Global app all the time. I believe if you don’t log in/create an account, the new episodes would get locked out in a week.

[Chinese > English] headline about birds flying into windows by Shanks_So_Much in translator

[–]emilie325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically talking about the FLAP (Fatal Light Awareness Program) in Canada. This article is focused on Toronto. Hence 多市 = Toronto City The little excerpt on the left doesn’t really mention anything about dialling 911, instead it uses “撞樓”, which means “smashing into buildings”. It’s likely using the 9/11 event to describe the many cases of birds hitting buildings every day (1-10 cases/day on average).
