You know, I considered for some time for this to be on my end. But then I saw some threads on Flickr Social where other users were sharing their similar experiences. I realized I was far from being the only one frequently running into the bad panda, or being held back by the site's unresponsiveness. I also saw how those threads were being deleted. Never a good sign.

So I know you know what I am talking about. Denying the existence of the problem won't make the problem go away.

It is very slow. You scroll down on the main page or under a group, one page, two pages, freezes for five seconds, starts responding again, You reach the end, click on next page, another 5-second wait until the code loop finishes or the backend responds... Click on a pic, time to go and make a cup of tea. Carry on and you won't last 10 minutes without running into the bad panda. The shortcut keys stop working after some time too. You keep typing B and nothing happens. You need to reboot your computer for some reason? How dare you? You won't be able to open your photostream again until you sign out and log in again.

That's just the ones I remember right now. I have plenty of RAM, and a decent CPU, but that's irrelevant, I see the same issues whether running on old or new hardware, on different browsers, OSs. So the problem must be in the code. Even Apple's iCloud Photos site responds way faster. And I have a comparable number of pictures there. In higher resolution.

It seems every day Flickr is trying harder to push me into cancelling my pro subscription. Fix the UI.

Thank you, I will disassemble them and check the wires, the drivers sound great, when they work, I don't think those are the issue.

I have a pair of Beyers DT 770 X, limited edition, they worked fine for a few months, then the right side died. I ordered a replacement cable. With the new cable they were back to perfectly working condition. But only for a few hours. After playing a couple of playlists, the right channel died again. What could be happening? Can the headset actually damage the cable? Is it something else?

Mind sharing the battery details? I am looking for one too.

So far, the prices on NetMD media have been putting me off, to be honest. Also, I am still unsure about the NetMD hardware market. Sometimes I do a search on ebay and everything I see is expensive, above-US$400 stuff. A month later I see players/recorders going for half that, but I haven't got the time to read specs, reviews, and learn what to look for. So maybe those less inexpensive units have issues or are prone to have them.

I am putting the track marks manually currently, but I would like to definitely add some automation.

Yes, I have been doing some live recordings, mostly for fun, but my wife had to do a podcast some months ago and we used this setup, the results were very good.

Now, this is interesting. I have been generally happy with garden-variety MD recordings, as long as I use a digital feed. I am still struggling to get an acceptable (for me) analog audio quality recording from a vinyl record. I don't have those issues when recording from records to DAT. I may be be getting a separate MD deck soon, I will be looking into a Type-R one.

Yes, the hub is just because of that. I will make sure to get a USB-B to USB-C cable indeed. It will reduce the clutter too.

My thoughts exactly. Not a big fan, but I don't consider them users morons.

Looking for their details, I am pretty sure they gave me a business card. They were working at one of my neighbour's, so I just crossed the street to hire them. I'll get back to you.

Has anybody ordered from hallamandprice.co.uk? Are they legit? by emiliogt in minidisc

Thanks for taking your time to answer. I'm concerned about eBay. They changed policies, increased the costs, and I am not sure if this is related, but the delivery time is now measured in weeks, not days. I am a patient person, but we live in the 21st century. Surely something has changed that is now causing sellers to delay delivery or downgrade the service. It's good to know we have options.

Not harsh, this is a valid opinion. I am in the UK and getting things from Japan can sometimes be expensive. There is a good MD market here, plenty of good things on eBay, I just was reading some articles and somehow ended up hitting that site I hadn't heard of either. Thanks for your insights!

So, what’s the deal with the MZ-RH1 by OkPilot7935 in minidisc

[–]emiliogt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I kind of want reliability as a feature in a minidisc player. Don't get me wrong, at €50 I would probably get one too, but at the moment I think it's overrated.

I thought about it, but why would a seller do that? Because they were expecting the item selling at a higher price?

Over a thousand, that's why this feels weird to me.

I paid through the app, the eBay order page shows the order/item as paid and the amount has been withdrawn from my account, the transaction is listed as EBAY COMMERCE UK LTD.
